God damn it, can't believe I'm writing this.

    Shane. Warne.

    Heart attack, 52.

Shane Warne - bloody hell that's both shocking & sad.

Not only a GOAT but a top bloke with an absolute passion for the game. Mate of mine told me often how Warne would always have the time to chat to kids and give impromptu coaching sessions when he was with Hampshire.

Rod Marsh and Warnie in the same 24 hours, condolences to their families. Got to meet Warnie a few years ago and he was a genuine larrikin.

Marsh will always be remembered for shaking his head. Legend.

Warnie was only tweeting yesterday about Marsh’s passing

Just heard this on news. Stunned. Marsh was bad enough but It feels like Warney only retired the day before yesterday

The quintessential Aussie larrikin. His flaws were all too apparent and only made him more endearing- a bloke you could relate to and undoubtedly one of the top half dozen cricketers of all time.

    Way too young

Legend of the game ( he really was, one of the greatest of the greats ) and full of very relatable human flaws off the field. I suspect we’ll see this ball replayed a few times over the next wee while.

RIP Warnie, thanks for making spin bowling cool again.

Those balls that didn’t spin but skidded on and constantly trapped the blacks caps LBW in the late 90s…

Heard the news a few hours ago. Still stunned. Condolences to everyone in Australia and to Cricket fans around the world.

Greatest bowler I ever saw. A magician, a genius, one of the ultimate competitors in the history of Cricket or any sport.

I had a beer with him on the 1997 England tour. Larger than life, lots of great stories and even though he was an Aussie, a very good bloke.

Rest in peace, Warnie. Thanks for the memories.

Bit of a shock to wake up to ,

Particularly living here in Melbourne, local Vic hero and all that ,

Last time I saw Warney for anyone that knows Melbourne was at the service station at the corner of Nepean highway and north rd Brighton months back

He finished pumping just before me and I ended up in the queue to pay just behind him .

Cracked me up he also ordered 6 packs of cigarettes.

    Rip

This one is really sad. One of those people I would have really loved to have a beer with. His war stories would have been worth me putting my hand in my pocket all night.

See ya Warney, thanks for those magic moments and never being boring.

Yeah one of those cases of a person being a sporting legend AND a dynamic personality. So often it’s one or the other.

He would have been terrific company over a few beers.

    This is fucked

Warny lived a fucking life man.

One of the best cricketers I ever had the pleasure of watching (maybe the best of my time) still old school off the field.

    Beers and durries

And thrn the women. The Liz Hurley thread should be renamed the Shane Warne memorial totty thread

RIP warney. You really were a legend
