Still good battery life, but getting to the point I'm not sure how they can make them so cheap. Skimmed reviews had a mixture of happy users and people complaining about speed (but they were gaming, which this device would be terrible for).

It's not my money, but I would spend a little bit more and have it last longer. Stuttering performance would be a pain to use.

@kirwan Yeah, it's not my decision, but I was thinking the same thing. I hate slow computers; I guess it's the same for mobile phones if you use them a lot.

very late to this thread, which headphones did you get @Hooroo ?

I got Jabra elite 7 active a couple of months ago and they're pretty much perfect, had jaybird before those and they were great too, pretty much as @antipodean suggested

I honestly can't remember! I ditched the watch not long after buying it. Just too ugly to wear. They look horrid.

Re-vamping the rumpus room, and have a requirement for a new TV, yeehaa!

    Will wall-mount a 55-inch set.

Any suggestions? Anyone seen the LG C1 that headlines this review?

It's a reno currently, but I'd expect it won't be very bright.

I think Sony and Samsung will be releasing QD OLED tvs this year (tipped to be the top tvs this year). Otherwise you can't really go wrong with the LG.

Disclaimer is I don't really know what I'm talking about.

Sony OLED TVs are really good out of the box.

Haven't seen one of the new QD-OLED TVs yet, and I would wait until their price comes down. Advantages are mostly limited to HDR, which I rarely use.

    Cool

I thought the same, but got massive reflection on my plasma. OLED the same I understand... But they are good panels.

Good luck, not many bad decisions let's be honest

@voodoo I've got the 52" version of this. Really happy with it - Google TV is the shiz. I'd recommend a soundbar if you want proper sound though. We've just got a cheap optical one that I chuck on for F1, big rugby matches and movies.

@Nepia said What is the bundled Apple subscription?

Apple One. Bundles Music, Apple TV+, iCloud all into one sub at a discount.
I do a family subscription so for me it meant that TV+ was effectively a couple of bucks a month.

@tim I have a 55” Sony A8X and a 65” A90J. The picture is sensational on both, the newer one is maybe a bit better as you’d expect but not much in it. While they re OLEDS there’s no more reflection than their earlier TVs as they’ve always put very glossy coatings on their Bravias. They use the screen as the speaker so although they are incredibly thin TVs the sound is quite good. Can’t use a soundbar though if you have them table mounted because they sit flush to the table, so a soundbar obscures the bottom couple of inches.

I’d recommend a A90J but not if you intend using a soundbar.

Edit: should add the A90 you can adjust its legs so it stands up a bit higher but they are disappointingly flimsy for a Sony product so no good for me.

@antipodean Sony will have a TV with that panel out soon, but will probably be a little more expensive?
