@dogmeat **sole occupants in cars with masks amuses me.

As for wearing masks outside? Maybe it wasn't a hard rule. But they were recommending it at one time. Which I always thought was ridiculousIt’s easy to forget when you’re loading stuff in and out of cars all day, please don’t judge me.

@dogmeat I assume these are what they're referring to (from https://www.business.govt.nz/covid-19/covid-19-protection-framework/events/
Red
Orange
I can remember Jacinda saying about the workers having to wear masks outdoors back when the traffic light system was released. Had no idea that at red everyone was meant to wear them.

So vaccine mandates are removed for many tonight, at midnight, a Monday.
Why not midnight Sunday, given most people's working week starts then...

Who knows right? Decisions made by people who dont own businesses or have no experience in doing so?
Jacinda is on the telly arguing about breast screening numbers and the effects of covid19 on wait times. I wish people would pay more attention because it would appear she is either lying or getting bad intel from Ashley -
Would only be more irritating if the pink-haired lady was the author. NZ, a remote island, had more Covid success than countries with larger populations, more population density, shared borders etc…

Well, after following this thread religiously for 2+ years, my parents are in the air somewhere over Iran and I'm picking them up from Heathrow this afternoon. Haven't seen them in nearly 3yrs, and they're about to meet my 1.5yr old son for the first time.
Plenty of people had it much worse in the pandemic, but it's still been very tough on our little family. A few months ago after the third Christmas apart, and Labour dragging their heels about omicron, I didn't think it was going to happen this year either. My wife and I both have the rest of the month off work, it's going to be bloody good.

That’s wicked man, good on you! That must be an awesome feeling.
I booked tickets home for my boy and I today. We won’t take chance of my wife going, just because.
Have to go in August though (fucking work), so a whole lot of bad shit could fuck it all up.
Its nice to have something to look forward to though.

In the process of booking a vacation back home for Christmas this year.
Haven't been able to make it back for 6 years, need to take the kids so they can see my mum as she is getting on.
Super excited. Looking at houses to book right now.
Hopefully there wont be some sort of restrictions again. -
@taniwharugby I doubt it is that. Not sure if you know Flutracker. It is a MoH site that surveys volunteers from the general public.
Those results are based on the results to questions about whether you had coughs, fever, headache were absent from work, tested for Covid etc. So the repondents have opted in and are more likely than the general population to report illness. Here's the rest of the latest report
