Was reading about the story behind this song today. It's a time transport song, straight back to 3rd form.
I think this is actually my favorite tune of theirs though, this was a song we'd sing on bus home from rugby games.
I think the entire One Hot Minute album is better than Soul to Squeeze.
It’s a nice song but to me it was the beginning of the end for them as a serious rock group.

I’ll give it an upvote cos it’s one of my all time favourite bands who are always underrated but it’s definitely a case of “their most famous but no where near their best” songs…..

What’s your view here?
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cover completely miss the essence of a song as bad as this one

Epic is a fucking great song, one of my all time faves.
A proper proper take me back track.

Yeah I agree and disagree purely cos in my opinion they’ve done sooooooooooooo many better songs.
Patton ( soaring lead vocals ) and Martin ( great licks and shredding ) in particular are in great form on this one though.

@MN5 yep. It just a time machine. Love it.
Reality is if it wasn’t for epic I may never have known any other FNM song. Real wow moment on first hearing.
Really ? Easy, Evidence, Midlife Crisis, Stripsearch, From out of Nowhere and Falling to Pieces were all big singles.
I am a massive fanboy though so some of this post might not be entirely accurate.

Who knows mate, who knows. Of those only midlife crisis may have grabbed me.
Anyway just did some YouTubing and I’m so gutted they cancelled. Patton live is special but feeling the bass of Gould and Bordins skins at Brixton Academu was going to be peak Rage. Gutted.
Still, TOOL at the o2 next Tuesday. Mustn’t grumble

Yeah my tickets got refunded too but in all honesty I’d only be going for nostalgic reasons. Patton is a shadow of his former self on stage ( which isn’t uncommon for loud shrieky singers to be fair )

funny, my favourite band, creators of my two favourite albums of all time, i've seen them twice, and in all honesty i have no desire to see them again. I find them to be extremely competent musicians with no stage presence. I just don't enjoy the show.
