I’ll give it an upvote cos it’s one of my all time favourite bands who are always underrated but it’s definitely a case of “their most famous but no where near their best” songs…..

What’s your view here?
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cover completely miss the essence of a song as bad as this one

Epic is a fucking great song, one of my all time faves.
A proper proper take me back track.

Yeah I agree and disagree purely cos in my opinion they’ve done sooooooooooooo many better songs.
Patton ( soaring lead vocals ) and Martin ( great licks and shredding ) in particular are in great form on this one though.

@MN5 yep. It just a time machine. Love it.
Reality is if it wasn’t for epic I may never have known any other FNM song. Real wow moment on first hearing.
Really ? Easy, Evidence, Midlife Crisis, Stripsearch, From out of Nowhere and Falling to Pieces were all big singles.
I am a massive fanboy though so some of this post might not be entirely accurate.

Who knows mate, who knows. Of those only midlife crisis may have grabbed me.
Anyway just did some YouTubing and I’m so gutted they cancelled. Patton live is special but feeling the bass of Gould and Bordins skins at Brixton Academu was going to be peak Rage. Gutted.
Still, TOOL at the o2 next Tuesday. Mustn’t grumble

Yeah my tickets got refunded too but in all honesty I’d only be going for nostalgic reasons. Patton is a shadow of his former self on stage ( which isn’t uncommon for loud shrieky singers to be fair )

funny, my favourite band, creators of my two favourite albums of all time, i've seen them twice, and in all honesty i have no desire to see them again. I find them to be extremely competent musicians with no stage presence. I just don't enjoy the show.

I know what you mean. I've seen them once and found them a little boring live.
So this time I've got seats right at the back, going to buy a pint and sit back and enjoy the show. As opposed to the gig.
Assume Maynard is still performing in the dark at the back, but I hope not.

I used to enjoy bands that simply couldn't stop moving in smaller venues as you couldn't help but feed off the energy. But occasionally I'd go to a big concert and love the show e.g. Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden. I really like big stage shows and will always be thankful to the Wachowski sisters, without Matrix I'd probably not hear of Rammstein until much later.

I don’t hate any of these people, but this sounds like the lamest rock radio station of all time.
They’re going to present Priest with some sort of legacy “excellence in metal” award, as if that makes up for it.

@MajorRage I hadn't listened to it until I read your comment because ... Chris Daughtry.
I get what you mean. they'd have loved it on American Idol though.
