The more they get triggered, the better the promotion.

The Ricky Gervais special “Supernature” premieres in a couple days, and it’s already a leftist shitshow, gnashing of teeth about subscription boycotts and cancellations — outrage over something they haven’t seen, and could just as easily choose not to watch.
Allegedly Netflix sat on this special for months fearing the woke backlash, but as they announced a big F.U. memo to their triggered employees a couple weeks ago, they’re showing it now. Naturally, crazy people are saying this is proof that Big Media is controlled by MAGA-mind-control (check the twitter threads, lunatics are actually RTing each other with this outlandish paranoia).
Trailer:
Can’t wait.
I watched this last night. Can't say it's his best work, but his points still hit. People who get triggered are merely missing the intellect or self awareness to understand.

Premieres tomorrow.

Even if he’s doing it for Scientology, good on him.

Shouldn’t it be “our” family?
Hard to believe NBC News plays along with this grammatical pronoun silliness, ‘specially when the pronouner lapses on his/her/their own preferred pronouns. It’s very confusing and helps nobody. (Maybe that’s the point?) Anyway, variable grievances in the social justice movement sometimes lead to circular-firing squads, so at least there’s that.
“The Rev. Megan Rohrer, who uses the pronoun ”they,” led one of the church’s 65 synods, overseeing nearly 200 congregations in Northern California and northern Nevada. They were elected in May 2021 to serve a six-year term as bishop of the Sierra Pacific Synod.
“In a letter to the synod Saturday, Rohrer said they were resigning because of “the constant misinformation, bullying and harassment” they experienced after the synod voted to remove the pastor of Mision Latina Luterana on Dec. 12, the Feast of the Virgin of Guadalupe, a significant holiday for congregants of the Stockton, California, church.
“Rohrer fired the Rev. Nelson Rabell-Gonzalez after an investigation by the church into verbal harassment and retaliation allegations against the pastor, all of which he has denied. The synod council voted on Dec. 11 to vacate Rabell-Gonzalez’s call as a mission developer and to terminate his employment after they said he refused to fulfill certain mandatory requirements.
“Rohrer was not available to speak with The Associated Press on Tuesday, saying they were “trying to rest and be with my family.” […]”

@Tim I can only assume Felicia is either bi sexual or bi polar, I'm going with the latter

Maybe she's both and feels excluded by the binary nature of the statement?

As a self-described fat black woman, she hears the mob.

She may need to work on her tact but there’s certainly nothing wrong with her eyesight.

Apparently she 'overstands'.
I'd posit she 'oversits'.

That was a pretty sad read
Is this what happens when we normalise "social anxiety" and allow those weird shut ins to make policy?
-
I read a very good article about censorship and China recently, and it pointed out that the most powerful force for silencing dissent, normalising conformity, closing avenues of individual expression and creativity etc, was not the iron hammer of the state, though it is important, but competition among the young for university positions, scholarships, graduate jobs etc.
Make kids fearful about graduating, losing financial aid, and sandbag them with endless paperwork and bureaucracy when they're working hard as it is, and you have them self-censoring. Then atomize them, and you have institutional domination.

@mariner4life Yeah, we are in a really fucked up time, and people our age don't pick up on a lot of it.
BTW, the second paragraph was about the anglosphere.

Fear is our most natural instinct
Throughout humanities history it has always been weaponised for control
-
@mariner4life There have been some great totalitarian novels etc that we could apply to our societies as extremes that serve as warnings, but none captured the quotidian reality of a 30% diminished society where the penalties are boredom and celibacy.

Was chatting to Mrs M daughter, a Snr Nurse who has just left the NHS, last week or so.
One of the main reasons she left (there were several) was "diversity" increasingly being seen as more important than clinical standards. Medical cock-ups were increasingly being shrugged off and put down to "stress" while things like "mis-gendering" were seized on with zeal and "offenders" disciplined.
Good way to show you're a dedicated manager and/or senior clinician and you have a cowed workforce to ensure you don't need worry about the serious side of health care I guess.
