@Kruse i would probably act less than civilly with $100 billion as well if i am 100% honest
Oh - yeah, I would be a complete fluffybunny.
i act like a fuckwit now, and i am worth about a packet of gum
stuck to the shoe of the guy in the street asking for change
don't feel so bad though, I am stuck to the foot of the guy who doesn't have a shoe

The Terminal List, the latest from Chris Pratt and Amazon Prime.
Very very different from your usual Chris Pratt fluff, enjoying this quite a lot. Each episode is around an hour or so and very tense. Some decent twists and turns which you can see coming but I think it's the intensity and brutality of some scenes which lift this up from the usual fluff like "The Tomorrow War".
I'd say 4 dead Seals out of 5 corrupt...
I have one episode to go. Has dragged out a bit for me, maybe could have been one episode shorter but have still enjoyed it. I agree you can see the twists coming but it is still enjoyable with a couple of particularly violent kills.
3.5 concussions out of 5 dead mofos

Stranger Things
I watched the film-length last two episodes of S4. Metallica fans will enjoy the MoP scene. Fun fact: Robert Trujillo's son Tye played guitar for that scene.
After watching them all grow up through the series it feels like a combination of the Goonies meets Nightmare on Elm street. Fun watch

Larry Ellison
I've started watching The Dropout (about Elizabeth Holmes, the Theranos chick)
So far the most unlikeable character by far is Ellison. They've painted him to be a giant fucking douchebag.
Which is concerning for the rest of the show to be honest
Ta.
Now on my list. Read about this a fair bit.

Watched a doco that was good too, I think it was The Inventor.

Doco and book excellent
This has started a bit naff to be fair, and if they make her sympathetic i am going to be pissed

@mariner4life I listened to a podcast (The Dropout) she was unlikeable and I bailed halfway through, despite being fascinating.
I expect that is easier to deal with watching something than purely listening.

This has been one of the best shows of this current era of too much TV. I usually wait for a whole series to drop but I like this so much I started watching weekly (well I started by accident, not realising it was being released weekly, but carried on).

The Undeclared War
Six-parter about a cyber-war between the UK & Russia.
Bit of a curates egg. Premise and tension was good and the plot believable, though it did go a bit OTT in places. Characters were generally strong & well-written and the main protagonist - a Muslim junior GCHQ employee - was really believable and played brilliantly by Hannah Khalique-Brown. Simon Pegg played the other main role.
Good watch and better than most of this genre - 4/5
I enjoyed this but like Tokyo Vice it had a non ending ending. So if it doesn't get picked up for a second season it will be annoying.
I liked the switch of focus in episode three (I think) and it was ballsy of them to do a whole episode that way.
I also found her to be fairly rounded as a character for a short TV series, at times she was straight up annoying and at others she was very sympathetic.

Just started watching Black Bird on Apple TV. About a drug dealer who has to try and get a confession out of a serial killer in exchange for release from prison. Promising start.
This is excellent so far, really enjoying it.
Mystery Road Origin is a really good Aussie show, follows a young Aboriginal detective investigating some crimes in the outback.

I think a lot of makes a great TV series it is down to good writing, rather than simply a clever plot and an innovative premise. When you get the two together you generate magic.
We're watching Vigil at the moment and the plot & premise is v. good, but the characters are so identikit (you just knew the submarine commander would be black and the female detective lead have a tortured past) and the dialogue just so cliched it detracts from it.
For me it's the writing that made The Undeclared War enjoyable and FAM so brilliant.

@Victor-Meldrew I just gave up on Rig 45, really similar premise to vigil but even stupider in terms of characters. 3rd episode fucked me off it was so moronic.

I'm going to treat myself to a decent copy of Edge of Darkness from the '80's and give it another watch to see if it's as good as I remember. Was a seminal show.
