    South Africa 12-13 Wales

Big-scoring by the sound of it. Wales win after the hooter.
Well done Wayne Pivac, on the 12th attempt? He's a kiwi so that's NZ winning the rugby today.

Moral: if you don't succeed, get some mates on the NZ Rugby board. Yup not talking about Wayne here.

Does this result mean France go top of the world rankings?

Huge achievement to win in SA for the first time

But fuck we were rubbish and didn’t deserve to win

What I can’t fathom is how we can have a conveyor belt of world class flankers but can’t find a hooker who can throw the ball less than 10m in a straight line

Congrats to Wales on breaking that duck. Happy for AWJ especially. It was a dour snorefest in sublime conditions and sets up next week properly. Plenty introspection needed on both sides and hopefully we will see a livelier decider -

I don’t think we would have won if Biggar was still on the park

    Next week

    Forwards deserve another go
AWJ in if Beard is banned (he’s been cited apparently)

Williams has to start at 9

Biggar at 10, Anscombe at 12
    North on the bench

How the fuck was AWJ given a yellow card? Christ Gardner is a clown.

A centre or two would be nice as well

Good of the Boks to get with the program and not leave us as the only team giving a first win milestone to a NH team.

I only watched the extended highlights and even they were a hard slog for this neutral ...

    It was a terrible game.

Real mixed feelings. If your asked me before if I'd take a a win regardless of the style I'd have said "absolutely". Having seen it, I'm thinking "I didn't realise you meant like that". An historic achievement and an abysmal performance rolled into one. Still, given what happened last week, I'll take the result.

I guess Bok depth isn't as good as I thought it was. Much more of a worry for Wales, given that that was our first string. Our attacking play is offensively inoffensive.

    Before the game:

Don’t worry Wales, this is no Springbok B-team

    After the game:

Wales beat Springboks ‘B’ team to secure first ever win on South African soil

@gibbon-rib that second article made a very quick transition to going from last nights test to next years World Cup. Classic stuff.

20 min highlights were enough for me.

Anscombe was money at the end, and that started with the kick to the corner. Take note Beauden.

One chink of light in all of this is Gethin Jenkins.

As defence coach he is keeping us in matches.

I originally questioned Lydiate’s squad selection and Test selection, but he has been instrumental in our defensive structure and more importantly our defensive style and skill set.

His trademark low, chopping tackle is being replicated across the squad and it appears that Wales have responded to the ever more scrutinised tackle area better than any other side.

The coaches are going to earn their money this week dissecting that pile of shit
