@MN5 was a bit disappointed with Midnight Mass.
##spoiler
In that it was just bloody vampires...otherwise good
##endspoilerYeah actually the ending was a bit flat after some wonderful tension building.
Perhaps it just seemed great next to Resident Evil which was quite shite all round

... Nice to vehicles involved in a bit of argy bargy actually show battle scars and continuity mean something. The additional cost and effort is something I appreciate. The one thing I found amusing about the vehicular argy-bargy....
##spoiler- 4 black SUVs provided by the same government department
- turns out there's a 1-on-3 bit of the ol' argy-bargy
- For some reason the 1 happens to be a different brand to the other 3
- The 1 comes out on top
- The 1 gets a close-up of the brand
##endspoiler
Product placement these days is just ridiculous. I heard somewhere that iPhones aren't allowed to appear if they're being used by bad-guys? And in this case, and having re-watched the latest Bond recently... it seems Range Rover's aren't allowed to be written off?

@MN5 I liked it but it was lacking in something...
Haven't bothered with resident evil, but it keeps popping up for me to watch....
Not sure I’d bother. Nothing you probably haven’t seen a million times before.
The evil head corporate bitch is pretty hot but ( I can’t believe I’m saying this ) people fighting zombies and the odd massive creature is pretty boring nowadays.

Weren't they all Rangies, just different (older) models?

Not sure to be honest... for some reason I just happened to notice the different grill in the head-on shot as shit started to do down... "wait... that one's different from the others"... before shit went down, and it turned out to be "the good-guys".... and that was the only close-up on brand-name we saw. Perfectly possible that my cynicism is in overdrive.
So, next-gen cynicism...If they were all Range-Rovers...
- were they happy to write off older-model versions coz cost
- or happy to write off older-model versions coz "you should buy the latest one"

Aussies, are you all VPN'ing the Old Man? Disney+ only has the first 4 eps?
It floated my way on a turbulent, swift-flowing stream as a result of recent floods I presume.

Finished The Old Man
Top show.
Great acting, sure as is the way in this genre, some of the shit is OTT, but hey, we dont live in that spook world, so who knows how super human they are
##spoiler
I had picked early on that Emily / Angela would be Hamzads daughter, didnt pick that Angela was Chases daughter until it was obvious.
Some nice tie ins though, brothers, dad etc.
The fact The Old Man wasnt Dan Chase, haha!
With those other fellas that had Emily in the van, got taken out by a lone woman? Pretty well organised operation to have half a dozen shooters, knowing they would fail to then get that woman in the right spot to take out 2 highly trained operatives - that said, refer above haha
##endspoiler -
Speaking of The Old Man, I re-watched Ep4 after they fixed the problem with subtitles on English CC. Subtitles don't appear automatically though, so really half-fixed. It made more sense understanding what was spoken in those scenes.
Otherwise, I'm watching weekly.

Trainwreck: Woodstock ‘99
Just finished Episode 1
Holy balls

Finished Trainwreck
I was two hours south in Sullivan County, NY and this event totally passed me by
Maybe because of the line up
Never been a fan of New Metal, but I was fascinated how such an insignificant weed like the lead singer of Korn can have so much power when he's on stage
Meanwhile, how the fuck did they get so big?
Shithouse
A mate messaged me and said
'Everything I hate about America is all there in that doco'
Hard to disagree
-
@MiketheSnow are you taking about the talentless flog known as Fred Durst from Limp Biskit?
I slightly recall some issues with Woodstock '99 but nothing about how bad it was. To me it went to two things:
- Generational differences.
- Greed of the promoters.
I still recommend watching it, Especially after the rampant failure here that was Splendour in the Grass.
-
@MiketheSnow
I haven't watched the doco - but have read a fair bit about it years ago... and just from that, have NO desire to see any depiction of it.
I seem to recall the lead singer of one band, who I'd thought would be the last to be the "sensible one" - being one of the few to try and stop the feral-ness. -

> @MiketheSnow are you taking about the talentless flog known as Fred Durst from Limp Biskit? No, Jonathan Davis of Korn
At least Durst looks like he can handle himself and/or enjoy the kicking
