    @voodoo smith gets on automatic pilot often. Perhaps enamored but his own pass. He has to mix it up otherwise we are predictable.

    @broughie which is why Christie helps make us look more dangerous when he comes on as he is a threat with the ball too, right now with Smith there, you know he will kick or pass, and you clearly see when a kick is being set up, so yeah...

    Reckon Christie should be given a start this week.

    @taniwharugby I think there’s some truth to this.

    @taniwharugby You may be right, but I'd rather see Smith start, with Fakatava coming off the bench.

    @canefan

    Frizell or Barrett? And pleased that Ardie is back

    https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/all-blacks/300690679/jordie-barrett-set-to-fend-off-roger-tuivasasheck-at-no-12-for-all-blacks

    The other big decision looming for Foster and co-selectors Joe Schmidt and Jason Ryan will be in the loose forwards, where regular starters Ardie Savea and Shannon Frizell both return after missing the trip to Melbourne.

    Savea is a certainty to step back in at No 8 where he has been so impressive this season. Less clear is whether Scott Barrett will remain at No 6 or Frizell will be restored there after performing well before picking up a rib injury in Hamilton.

    Skipper Sam Cane will also have to be monitored after leaving the field in Melbourne in the first half with concussion symptoms. He later passed his HIA test, though will be further assessed when the team hits the training field in Auckland this week. Dalton Papalii looms as the most likely replacement, if required.

    my opinion is we will be a better team with 3 locks in the 23, and an actual loose forward at 6.

    @Old-Samurai-Jack

    Leota out for the Aussies. RTS more than likely starts from the bench, with Jordie starting at 12.

    I dont mind Jordie getting more time in the midfield ,

    Because with him, Jordan and Beaudie likely to be in the 23 , we have plenty of fullback cover ,

    its nice to know he can slot back in there if required if this happens again

    Swain faces the judiciary tonight.

    Tupaea is likely out for two to three months, so I hope he gets a lengthy ban.

    2 week reduction for an exemplary record (in the state of Victoria).

    A throw away line in an Ozzie article implied he was going to fight it

    I wonder which section he's been cited under.

    I can only see three sections that could be used:

    e69e76f2-4a02-4fee-9220-6e52f7f3cce3-image.png

    There was no head contact, so no minimum mid-week range starting point.

    A lot will depend on the degree of recklessness or intent the judiciary thinks was involved in Swines' actions.

    As to possible reductions: he won't get the full 50% reduction because of his red card for head butting. So if the starting point is 6 weeks, he'd probably get 4. Of course, it also depends on whether he admits to what he's been cited for. Is he fighting that, or just the sanction? If he doesn't admit he's done anything wrong, that also means less deduction.

    I genuinely hope the starting point is at least 10 weeks, so he'd get at least 6 weeks suspension, but that would mean they have to start at a top-end entry point. Will they?

    Edited to add that there's no reason why he can't be charged under more than one provision.
