    @bayimports How did ALB go?

    From my point of view, neither backline looked overly commanding and not really a standout but happy to see him back on the field, he will only get better with each game. Others may have been watching him more closely but I thought he went ok in his minutes without being outstanding

    The Waikato forwards got outmuscled in the 2nd half and gave up too many turnovers. Combine that with some loose passes and game over.

    But fuck me, the forward passes let go by the officials are a joke. If I can see them from my seat why can't the ARs and ref?

    I never thought Waikato reached the heights of last year so wasn't expecting the season to last any more than another week.

    I thought he looked good and was relieved when he went off. He ran straight and in the 2nd half there was a lot of Waikato hot potato which was mainly DMac's fault as the 10.

    Just home after a horrid return trip in very busy traffic. Just hope that BOP can pull it all out against Canterbury next week.

    Leroy Carter was immense today. I felt his fierce attitude inspired his team mates a lot, and made the difference. Sangster had one of those days where every time he was a bit away from where he should have been, the ball came to him. Naitoa Ah Kuoi had a fantastic game and Ross went well too. BOP forwards earned the win.

    Thought the up and unders from Waikato would win them the day after BOP shaky in that area this season. Sinkinson had a huge game on the chase - but it did not yield points... McWhannell was the other huge performer today, and Luke Jacobson ran and tackled strongly. ALB looked strong as he got into his work.

    Notwithstanding all that, the talk in the stands was about the inconsistent officiating. If the knock-ons, illegal plays and forward passes were visible to us, then they were to the TJ also... Beyond that, application of the advantage law was the biggest frustration.

    Is Leroy Carter primarily a wing or is he a midfielder playing on the wing? I am hoping it's the latter.

    @Crazy-Horse primarily a halfback, we just need him to play anywhere

    Wow a half back. I would never have picked that!

    It's not the first year Carter has played on the wing. He ended up there in a Chiefs preseason game a couple of years ago. Being in the sevens programme has certainly improved his game.

    @OleOleOle Absolutely! He gets stuck into everything. One of those guys that will lift others through work ethic. He seems a little quicker and looks to have bulked up this year due to being in the 7s squad.

    Is he the one most likely to become the next Kurt Baker?

    He does seem to have a bit of Baker about him. Good player, well suited to sevens but his workrate will bring value to NPC level if not Super.
