@Victor-Meldrew I saw the Rumours tour at Western Springs in 1977.

They finished the show with Songbird although my abiding memory is of how manic Mick Fleetwood is

My first memory of McVie is when she was perfect singing I Would Rather Go Blind with Chicken Shack back in the 60's

Not my cup of tea, much preferred when Lindsay sang to be honest.

In any case she sold a fuck ton of records so good on her.

    RIP.

I’m in the other camp. I alwAys thought that when Fleetwood Mac teamed up with Bukingham Nicks and went all soft rock west coasty, they lost a lot of wha made them a serious band. Still made some good stuff but so different.

Currently watching a doco on BBC4 about Ms Perfect. Good watching

I also saw FM back in 2015. Richie and Gemma were in the corporate box behind us, and got a shout out from Stevie when Landslide was played.

They are a band that has had about 4 different eras depending on who was in the band. My favourite song (Oh Well) is from the Peter Green days.

Definitely one of our legends. Story doesn’t really explain how serious his teenage rugby injury was, one story I read was that they had to surgically remove a 2 litre blood clot in order for him to survive, that is close to half of his total blood supply. Would be interested to see how Arthur Lydiards training methods would go with todays athletes

@Nevorian I hadn’t realised until I saw Dick Taylor talking about Halberg yesterday that NZ Athletics wouldn’t credential Lydiard into the Tokyo games so although he was the architect of the Golden Hour he never got to see it. Sad really.

Mrs M's son & partner are both classed as elite runners for competition and their view of Arthur Lydiard is simply that he was the most important and influential running coach ever.

@mikedogz hated Sesame Street, but it was the only channel and to sit through it to get to the good stuff like Zorro or Clutch Cargo ...

But Bob was part of my childhood.

    Pioneer tennis coach dies

Nick Bollettieri, the larger-than-life coach whose famed Florida tennis academy changed the face of the game has died at the age of 91.

One of the most influential coaches in my lifetime. He was a big part of building US dominance in the sport during the 90s

I never would have guessed he was that old.
