You’re dreaming. That’s the kind of thing that turns people off soccer. He was barely touched.

Really? You've not watched much of the game then have you? Every professional would have gone down at that point from any nation. Lord Harry Kane is a master of it.

Just because they would all do it doesn't mean that it doesn't turn people off the game. Sport shouldn't be about play acting.

The argentinians as a whole were worse than normal and regardless dives like that are rarely given as penalties. Huge mistake from ref. And it is a blight in the game.

The Spanish ref was poor and shouldn't get another game this WC. Oliver, the English ref, didn't give Brazil an endless amount of free kicks when there was little or NO contact.

So google has a red card being given in the penalty shoot out to Dumfries. The coverage I saw showed someone getting a yellow for something but the comms said who cares and showed crowd shots instead. What happened? Presumably explains some of the feeling when the Argentinians won.

Lol yeah "turns people off" by far the most popular sport in the world. Yeah gee they've got a real crisis on their hands

I don't think the comment was directed at existing fans. More the detractors of the game that can't be bothered because of the corruption and histrionics.
No, they won't care one little bit.

Smaller population than NZ. They are some footballing country. This is not a one-off they are often in the mix.

    Losing finalists last time round

Yes and you wouldn't bet against them now beating Argentina and playing France again in the final. Their mentality and spirit really is quite something else.

Yeah let’s not ever try to improve anything. Why is rugby even bothering with all these rule changes.

That was a pen all day - when someone chops back and you leave your foot there.

Fantastic free kick routine to pull off in the last chance saloon.

Given who the Dutch had on the field they should have carried on lumping it forward and pinned Argentina back - deserved to lose before pens given the chances that Argentina had.

Yes, really odd the way that, having taken control of the match by lumping it forward to their big units, the Dutch completely shelved that tactic during extra time.

Credit to the Dutch for their late comeback, but Argies deservedly won - much better throughout the match, save for the last 10 mins or so of normal time where they completely lost their heads.

How can you say that when the game was decided by penalty kicks, nothing more nothing less.

Because their previous rule changes resulted in some shit unintended consequences.

Netherlands hit back, should be 1-1 now. That penalty should never have been given.

Saw it briefly on highlights. Didn't even touch him? Was it even in the area?

Morocco lead Portugal 1-0 in injury time. Ronaldo bottles a great chance. Morocco down to 10 men.
