In the Loop - promoted as the funniest British comedy in years. Which I guess might be the case if you think hearing someone say fluffybunny a lot is side splitting

Save yrself $15 and go to one of those insullt generating web sites as thats the one piece of humour in the movie - one of the characters rants well but talk about tiresome.

3/10
Funny People with Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen etc...

Really strong first hour then it fades. Hard.

The stand up comedy is really good, apparently the Director got them to write their own material. Sandler is really starting to get some good roles these days... wonder when/if we'll get Happy Gilmore 2 - The Tigers Tale!

First half = 8/10
Second half = 3/10
I am normally a fan of Sandler, but alot of his movies follow that formula; very funny first half, weak through to the last 5 or 10.

    (500) Days of Summer. A romantic comedy/drama about a guy who falls in love at first sight with a girl who doesn't believe in love. The film is presented in a non linear fashion, and hops around in random order through various events of their courtship. One of the better flick I have seen this year (along with The Hurt Locker).

Year One; Jack Black, Michael Cera

plus a host of other b list actors.

Had it's moments, but for the large part, pretty average 5.5/10

Well, due to a disagreement with the director.

Zardoz I think. Sean Connery is easy to categorise. If he has hair in the movie avoid it like the plague

The Rock, The Hunt For Red October, Highlander has hair in all of those and all are pretty good.

I think any movie where he has some floppy fringe type deal going on is likely to be crap..Or obviously pony tail.

Just wanted to add to the votes upthread for "Up" - went to a 10 am screening of that last week, took the 7 month old along to one of the baby friendly screenings.

A poignant, funny and quite moving film. A simple story, fantastical in nature - but with real heart and hope in it. It sounds like sickly sweet viewing fare - but it's not.

I really enjoyed it - and as my baby fell asleep halfway through I got to watch it with her small head on my shoulder. It was primo. A Pixar film for kids to enjoy the story, but for adults to savour the meaning.

The trailer for Martin Campbell's feature film remake of his own Edge of Darkness miniseries is online:
EDIT: And it looks about as bad as Gibson's accent sounds.
