    @Stargazer The Stuff article says:

    Fullback Will Jordan (concussion related illness) was “very close” to being named for his first match of the year, while Ethan Blackadder (calf) and Oli Jager (neck) are also nearing a return.

    ...so that's good.

    I wonder whether Will might get some minutes in club rugby this weekend? Probably would have said if that was happening.

    have to assume Goodhue being eased back and no doubt they likely have planned minutes for him, cos I dont see him offering much impact off the bench...

    So given that we're not getting Sevu or Fletch back - and assuming we can get through a couple of games without more injuries...

    Our top team isn't far away and is probably now something like....

    Moody, Taylor, Williams, Whitelock, Barrett, Gardiner, Blackadder, Grace
    Drummond, Mo'unga, Springer, Havili, Goodhue, Fainga'anuku, Jordan

    Brewis, McAlister, Jager, Strange, Christie
    Heinz, Burke, Ennor

    Interesting they're still not giving Hotham many runs yet. I thought he went pretty well at his last start.

    It’s only the Rebels….

    Hotham is in our best 23 if we are going by form and building for the future.

    I agree - but, the selections don't support that.

    Hotham starts vs the Reds, not selected vs MP, Bye, Not selected vs the Rebs. Can't see him getting selected vs the Chiefs based on this.

    Yeah, some good size and Gardiner is coming along nicely.
