It doesn't appear to be a coup (yet?) but it certainly makes things much messier for everyone.
Russia’s FSB security service has opened a criminal case against Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the Wagner mercenary force, for calling for an armed mutiny, Russia’s state-owned TASS news agency said.
Prigozhin said that his call to action against the Russian military was not a mutiny but a “march for justice”. -
Wagner reported to be moving in on Russian military HQ in SW Russia.
Also reports that Russian military units have changed sides and now support Wagner
Tough to know what to believe.
There's been a lot of the end is nigh for Putin bullshit coming from the West.(and of course a heap of Russian disinfo)And how is it a "coup" when Prigozhin wants to remove Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov but not Putin?

Whatever is happening with Wagner & Putin. it doesn't bode well for Putin's Ukraine adventure.

I wouldn't believe what he says too quickly, it might change tomorrow.
It is going to get ugly either way.I'm not believing it, just as I am not believing this is a "coup".

So Putin is now going to "crush" the Wagner group - the people who've given him most of his gains in Ukraine.
Way to go Vladimir.https://www.wsj.com/articles/ukraine-shoots-down-russian-cruise-missile-barrage-9d9da03a

BBC Security bloke saying this is a huge boost for Zelensky.
1 in 4 of Putin's boots on the ground is Wagner and with Russian regular troops and Wagner fighting each other, he wouldn't be surprised to see "significant developments in the war in the coming weeks"

Does he have any ability to get into Moscow though? Is this a show of strength or a real coup or just plain craziness?
Playing right into Ukraine's hands either way. -
"Both Prigozhin and the Russian defence ministry are now actively urging armed men on the opposing side to switch allegiance - but at this stage it's unclear who will have an upper hand."

I suspect many will just lay down their guns and walk away.. -

The warlord Yevgeny Prigozhin has rejected President Vladimir Putin’s claim that his uprising against the Russian defence ministry amounts to treason and said his Wagner paramilitary group would refuse demands to surrender.
“On the subject of betraying the motherland, the president is deeply mistaken,” Prigozhin said in an audio message released by his press service.
“We are patriots of our motherland. We, all the fighters of Wagner PMC, have fought and will fight on. And nobody is planning to hand themselves in on the orders of the president, FSB, or anyone else. Because we don’t want the country to live any longer under corruption, lies, and bureaucracy,” he added.
“We are patriots, and everyone who is against us is gathering around a bunch of bastards.”

Sounds like a coup then!

Playing right into Ukraine's hands either way. It's really hard to tell. Surely you don't do this without an endgame, god knows what it could be. It doesn't seem realistic for him to take Moscow. Perhaps Putin will be forced out if he is placed under enough pressure.
Either way, it's excellent for Ukraine.
