    Amazing weekend in Monaco.

Incredible event in an incredible setting.

Race was dull til the rain, then it all kicked off. We were opposite the pit lane and the drivers were having trouble controlling the rears coming out of the corner. Great watching.

Sounds like Saturday nights in a light industrial area in Upper Hutt (except for the 'incredible setting' part)

Dixon accidentally causes a collision with Power. Classic as Dixon just keeps walking up to him to apologise and Power keeps squaring up to hit him, Dixon never flinches once and keeps approaching him to talk while they get pushed apart. Classic.

    Well of course he does.

    Now.

The reality is that for more than 40 years there have been periods of team dominance, it’s just the last 20 odd that those periods have become longer.

Not Formula 1 but Shane van Gisbergen about to win NASCAR race in Chicago to enhance his impressive driving record. Led by about 2 seconds with just two laps to go but the caution lights came on so think they might have a three or four lap sprint to the chequered flag once the track is cleared. He has the freshest tyres of all the cars around him so things looking good.

The win is achieved so he has an impressive 100% record of wins in this highly competitive class of racing. Can't be many drivers out there to have never lost a single NASCAR race they have taken part in! Put him into any race machine and he drive the wheels off it to be up with the leaders no matter what.

How many races has he participated in?

@canefan One!!!!! But he came in as a complete rookie to the class against many seasoned and ultra competitive drivers and took them down with the barest minimum of preparations.

Danny Ric is back. Hard on de Vries but that's F1.

Will be good to have the smiling assassin back on deck.

@MajorPom it will be interesting to see how he goes in the Alpha Tauri, seemed like a big chunk of his 'form slump' at McLaren was an inability to be enthused and motivated in a clearly non-competitive car after a reasonably long time in the sport. The Alpha Tauri takes the competitiveness down another notch but hopefully the different starting point of expectation and the half year break help the enthusiasm and motivation, or is the carrot of that second Red Bull more present than Christian Horner would have us believe...

Surely Perez is gone. 5 times in a row missing out on Q3 driving that car. The one where he missed out because of track limits was the worst.
