@Catogrande As I suspected, only relevant to a kiwi audience.

I spent an hour or so at a good solid "old-school" pub earlier this afternoon. One where there are true regulars, knowing who comes in at what time, etc, etc.
I shit you not... on the event where there's a table of 2 guys currently, talking shit (aaaabsolute shit, BTW)... and 1 new guy turns up... I somehow heard the EXACT phrase "There he is" 4 times.
FOUR fucking times. For 1 arrival. From 2 people. And my mind went straight to this "meme"... (from the last time it was posted). -
@paremata That Chapman one is outright bizarre. How did the writer think they could get away with that?
Agree It is bizarre, putting aside the fact she’s never said she was queer (batshit crazy Alice Walker claims they were a couple, Chapman never confirmed it) that song was just absolutely massive.
The real travesty is she missed out on best song to Don’t worry be happy by Bobby McFerrin ffs.

They were Foodtown before Countdown, but originally Woolworths. Aussies.
Countdown supermarkets are set to rebrand back to Woolworths in a move that the Australian supermarket giant says comes as part of a “transformation programme”.
Its supermarkets were formerly known as Woolworths, but rebranded in 2011.
Parent company Woolworths Group said it planned to invest more than $400 million over the next three years to rebrand its network of 194 stores, starting with the older supermarkets from early 2024.

@Nepia in NZ, we used to have Big Fresh that changed to Woolworths (or was Woolworths before that?) who changed to Countodown, but are reportedly going back to being called Woolworths, am sure it'll make things cheaper too.
Ah right, cheers, I didn't know they were changing back.
We didn't have Big Fresh down our way, it was just Woolworths. We also had the dept store Woolworths too.

Actually they were Countdown Big Fresh and Woolworths depending on where in the country you were.
Bizarrely when Woolworths Australia bought them they decided to brand them all Countdown but with the stylised W logo.
Not only do you get pretty decent rugby analysis on here, you also get to find out about supermarket naming history.
This sort of stuff is why I love the Fern..
