In Sydney, I pay $20-25 for a cut generally in the Chatswood area.

No. 2 sides and back, No. 5 over the top with a nice short blend in between the two.

No. 1 over the burns and a straight razor to finish the neck and I'm good for another 4 weeks.

I too also have my own set of Wahal professional clippers but those are reserved for "manscaping" which is done on the average of once every 8 - 12 weeks depending on season.

$40 every 4 weeks for wash, cut and blow-dry. If I want a flat white (which I invariably do) the salon's blonde junior goes next door and gets me a proper one, no charge.

I used to spend 75 quid (plus tip!) a month in Canary Wharf, so 40 bucks is perfectly fine with me.

My brother pays $14 but it looks like it.

You have to spend that extra dollar for the best result.

DIY bro over here. Was paying $25 for a #2 on my head and a #4 on my beard, plus a bit of beard and neck trimming. Probably every 3 weeks? Got a set clippers and sort myself out now - probably cut my hair more often now and as a balding fulla that helps it look a bit tidier.

I'm a proud metrosexual. But only spend $20 for a short back and sides every couple of weeks. It's the moisturizers that cost the big bucks

Yep, pretty doesn't come cheap. Personally I like the Anthony Oil Free Facial Lotion SPF30. Brilliant stuff. Recipe for Men is also very good. For hair products, American Crew stuff is pretty good.

Edit: Jeez some of those products look kind of dodgy when you write them down, don't they?

Ahhh... Now a topic near and dear to my heart... Men's grooming habits.

Personally I use the following products:

Post shaving - Clinique for Men Post-shave soother

Moisturizing - My preferred brand is the Clarins Men's range

Mornings -I'm currently using the Super Moisture Balm which is excellent in winter as it is a bit thicker and heavier for those dry windy winter days.

During summer months I switch to the lighter but still excellent Super Moisture Gel

Evenings - After the evening shower and before bed I mix it up between the Revitalizing Gel and the Line-Control Balm.

When I'm feeling the need for an extra moisture boost, I will use the Fatigue Fighter which is like a leave on mask.

For cleansing I keep with the Clinique brand for cleanser and toner.

As I'm all too quickly approaching 50 (next year), the Line-Control Balm is really becoming the go-to product to maintain those youthful good looks. :hi:

Nah, just a few extra minutes to moisturize day and night.

Please note, I didn't list any hair product as I don't bother to use any as I keep my hair short as detailed above.

Yeah, I think it's about $60 here in Aus. You don't need to use a lot, focusing primarily on the areas around the eyes and forehead where wrinkles are most likely to develop.

Worth it though, at least I like to think so.

I did mention I'm turning 50 next year so consider it the makings of a midlife crisis.

Except for the small fact that I've been using moisturizer since I was in my late teens.
