Two people who need much greater criticism: Schmidt and Ryan.

They continue to select for and play this game.

How Ryan allowed Foster to pick all those wingers instead of the likes of Finau I'll never know.

Second YC for being dumb as fuck
    RC

If you’re talking about Will Jordan, close the door on your way out.

He was impeded and tripped on the Frenchie who changed his line to deliberately block him.
Should be that fulla in the bin.

New lows, interviewing fans for expert analysis of the game. Still probably better than Justin Marshall

Congrats to France. Won the game in the 2nd half.

I expected the French to win, so not too disappointed (as far as you can not be disappointed after an AB loss).

I actually expected France to be more dominant. They scored mostly off our mistakes, not because they created much.

I'd have been OK with a loss against France, but that 2nd half was rancid in every department.

If we lose to Italy and they only lose to France then Italy go through even if we hammer Namibia and Uruguay.

One of Beaudy or Mo'unga need to be dropped.

We can't have two chip kick merchants knocking around.

Im going to smash my TV up if they do that again.

It's been happening since the last world cup.

    The axis does not work.

    Im sick of it.

Give me Shaun Stevenson over that dross. At least he can bang a ball and has an eye for the try line.

Well done France - good commitment to breakdowns and sensible options - play for territory and look what happens.

Basic rugby acumen won and lost this game - very poor options from key players. What was Fossies plan ?….. play in our own half as much as we can?

    Key areas of concern:
Exits and playing in the right areas of the field. That's why the errors came - BB in particular is a piss poor liability - Dmac any day for me, or put Jordan at 15.

Clean outs were piss poor today - Ardie was average for him and shown to be light weight in contact in my opinion. Definitively need another loose forward as we had very little presence at the breakdown. And got players isolated far to much. Please let it be Blackadder.

Might be a bit of a hot take - but felt the ABs lost this more than French won it. France wont win this world cup.

Talea and Scooter our best today.
BB and tactics / options our worst. (Christie off the bench was also poor)

Small mercies - at least Sam Cane can't wear the flack for this one.

Bigger issue, cupboard is completely bare. Little talent, and even fewer brains.

We played that like it was super rugby, terrible game plan.

I can understand the tactics to want to play an uptempo game and tire the French. But that relies on holding onto the ball (not kicking it away) and the ref not wanting to stop the game all the time.

100% agree. Although I said it was rugby's version of a rope-a-dope. All they did was make tackles and kick long. 2nd half they just feed off poor exits and knock-ons.

@Donsteppa yeah I don't think we have the smarts to win the rwc.

I think we have the players and ability, but we want to win it scoring a million tries and looking pretty doing so, we don't want to grind a win like 2011.

I was expecting/hoping the AB’s to do more in the second half but it was the French who let loose and had that bit of extra in the tank. Bugger! Granted the conditions potentially suited them more (used to their heat/humidity whereas we are coming out of our Winter) but I thought they looked way more nervous in the first 40 than we did.

Foster is the worst choice ever. Seems a nice guy but he is just not up to it. The icing on the cake would be losing to Ireland in a ¼ final.
