Jamieson hangs the bat at one…

    What’s Timmy gonna do.

He might try to hang about with Phillips since he’s hitting it well.

Whatever he does half the fern will praise him and the other half will criticise him. It’s just how things are when it comes to Timmy and his batting.

Southee one away from equalling the great man ( Cairnsy ) for test sixes.

Has played a lot more matches though so it barely counts.

All tied up, didn’t think we’d get there at 55/5.

    Damn!

Take a bow Mr Phillips, you’ve got us right back in this game, with good back up from Mitchell, Jamieson and Southee of course.

180 all out, I’ll take the 8 run lead.

Now we need a flawless bowling performance please.

A glimpse at the talent being held back by Nicholls' continuity of selection.

Young batsmen of NZ , You need to spend 3 years in domestics reinventing yourself as a part time spinner if you want a chance to bat for blaccaps test side.

@mariner4life The traditional NZ green tops encouraged generation after generation of NZ medium fast do a little but not much bowlers and batsmen who learned to flash at stuff because long term survival was not an option.

Improving the wickets was the best thing NZ Cricket did. Bowlers and batsmen had to learn to be patient, think and hone their techniques.

We could always roll out the green tops when the tourists arrive though... 😁

you know what really grinds my gears?

The South Continent nations have genuine home pitch advantages. Absolute burners that take experience to play on

What do we serve up in response? Benign flat batting decks. The only reason for our success was we had a metronome South African willing to bowl bouncers over after over after over until the batsman got bored and fucked up.

    Bring back the fucking green.

That pitch is spinning wickedly, it's definitely a hit out or get out situation. Probably need to try and bat like it's a T20 as you're not going to last long trying to survive.

This should be a pretty comfortable walk in the park.

Conway to get an unbeaten half century. Easy.
