Optic neuritis - inflammation of the optic nerve. Explains the vision issue in the left eye. Everything else structural inside the orb itself is fine.
Three days of IV steroids with first dose administered in ED. Should sort it out.
Bigger issue: it's most commonly associated with MS. 😐 So here's hoping, based on the sudden onset, it isn't that.

Fuck me NZ TV is disgraceful. Dire, vapid reality shows on every fucking channel. How the fuck have I switched to the Crime & Investigation channel to be greeted by "Hoarders".
You're upset because the hoarding wasn't about sheep-porn?

@Victor-Meldrew what have I missed?

Optic neuropathy is caused by damage to the optic nerve, and this can be from a range of factors, including infections (e.g. toxoplasmosis, herpes simplex), inflammatory diseases, neurological disorders, certain medication, dietary deficiencies and toxins (e.g. methanol, alcohol, tobacco).

History of cold sores. 🤔 Could be related - nothing recent tho.
neurological disorders,
dietary deficiencies
Guilty.

Mmmmm... Beer...

When you've had a large Christmas dinner, some good Pinot and you fall into a deep, satisfying sleep on the sofa. And some arsehole keep waking you up.

Assume it’s your own arsehole? Just get up and have a dump. It’s better in the long run.

Tech platforms that do updates that make the user experience worse. For example:
Teams: After the update to the new improved Teams 2.0 you hit refresh on the Chat tab it now defaults to the Teams tab. Other than that I can't really see what's different for it to be improved.
Youtube: YT did an update which moved the History and Playlist from easy to navigate one page lists to two separate pages of large icons.
Prime: They updated their interface and it's now almost impossible to find anything new to watch unless you specifically look for it.
Apple: I know that Apple would have done something stupid recently, but I can't remember off the top of my head.
-
People who tell you authoritatively that vinyl sounds better and is more faithful than digital as "it captures all the sound unlike digital which doesn't as it has gaps".
No it doesn't. It might if you had ears with a frequency range 5 times that of a cat or dog- but you don't.

Peak peak GOM! Grumpy at a company without a reason!
It's Apple, reason enough

People who are repeatedly late.
Everyone is late sometimes, shit just happens. But we have multiple people in our lives that are late EVERY time. It’s just disrespectful - why do they think that their time is more important than ours?
My daughter is missing running training right now because the mum of her mate was more than 2 hours late to collect her. Fucking irritating.
