I loved the Doors back in the day, but now I find Morrison extremely irritating. Just another pompous, narcissistic, boring hippie. Actually he would have been in his element today. Just imagine his Insta following....
Reckon Manzarek's keyboard was far more integral to the Doors sound than Morrison's 'genius' lyrics.
Was an easy way to impress a certain cadre of impressionable girls though - drop some Morrison quotes into the chat.

Jim was a cool frontman as I mentioned, as good as any in rock but yes his written word stuff was utter wank.

Took me right back to High School days kicking around with a bunch of “mates” who were smoking endless joints whilst I wondered when I could get the fuck out of there.
Doors are in my past, I think.
I remember the Doors got massively popular again after that Val Kilmer movie.
Some bands can replace an iconic lead singer ( AC/DC immediately spring to mind ) but the Doors never could
