I hope the do this jersey and not something crazy and new, maybe Fluro, like the world XV had, would actually consider buying a modern version of this

In a move that will surprise no one, Farrell had been named lions coach for the tour. So maybe the apprentice will become the master (Schmidt) as this looks like the easiest lions tour ever coming up. Ozzie at an all time low, and an improved build up over recent tours. Possibly even a record low for English players too, with Ireland ascendant.

Lions teams are always strongest when there’s real diversity within the ranks. With that in mind I hope there’s a fair smattering of Boks Scots in there

I think that will be the case, it won't be the English and others lions this time

I still have, and wear, the original version of this.

Yep and already every bloody feed I have keeps getting bombarded with some “legend” picking their Lions team. Meaningless bollocks.

    Farrell v Schmidt.
    Ireland's form post-Sexton TBC
England to provide the bulk again if their form continues upward?
Plucky BokScots to help provide key positions, then get ignored.
    Wales in a mess administratively.

Wallabies better than last year, which honestly I could fucking coach them to at this point.

No wonder they're adding games against other nations...

3 nil to the Lions at record scores. Probably the last time they tour Australia.

Australia crashing out in the pool stages again of the World Cup will be the last time they will be involved in a major international competition.

Professional rugby in Australia will soon end, and NZ will do tours of South Africa, Argentina etc instead of the Rugby Championship.

@MiketheSnow After twenty years of gradual decline, they are in the rapid decline phase.

Now the Six Nations tournament has finished, I thought I'd have a go at naming a Test line-up for the British and Irish Lions.

    1. A. Porter (Ireland)

    2. R. Kelleher (Ireland)

    3. Z. Fagerson (Scotland)

    4. M. Itoje (England)

    5. T. Beirne (Ireland) (c)

    6. J. Conan (Ireland)

    7. T.Curry (England)

    8. B. Earl (England)

    9. J. Gibson-Park (Ireland)

    10. F.Russell (Scotland)

    11. J. Lowe (Ireland)

    12. B. Aki (Ireland)

    13. T. Freeman (England)

    14. D. Van der Merwe (Scotland)

    15. B. Murray (Wales)

    16. L. Cowan-Dickie (England)

    17. E. Genge (England)

    18. T. Furlong (Ireland)

    19. O. Chessum (England)

    20. R. Darge (Scotland)

    21. A. Mitchell (England)

    22. F.Smith (England)

    23. E. Daly (England)

Four Kiwis and a Saffa in the starting backline.

@sparky Earl over Doris? Russell over Smith?

@antipodean Doris looks out of sorts IMHO. He might of course recapture his form by the Lions tour. Ben Earl is adding more layers to his game.

Which Smith? Fin Smith Vs Finn Russell (the battle of the Finns) is a tight one for me, but I gave the starting nod to to Finn Russell because of experience. Marcus Smith is another one who looks out of sorts but could easily recapture form between now and July.

Have they confirmed the assistant coaches/selectors yet? I'm not sure Farrell can justify having so many Irish now.

Russell certainly plays a style that would trouble the Wallabies IMO. With quality centres and forwards to play off I think he will bring the best of both worlds in attack - play quick and close to the line, but also a territory game.

It's got Earls and Lowe, so it has the dickhead quotient covered 😉
