@Chris I Am and Tamiti ? What's happened there ,has he been up North for the week

To bring Tamaiti Williams back and straight into the starting line up in a NZ derby when he hasn’t played any rugby since week 1 is terrible management in itself. Hes then pulled before half time, It makes no sense and sets Williams up to fail. You could tell he was well off it in regards to fitness.

I suppose that’s a theme from Penney this season though, he started Halfpenny after being out all season, has a shocker then pulls him early and he’s not in the matchday 23 the following week 😂 very strange to see at super rugby level.

Because Halfpenny had a calf injury he injured at the end of that game, pretty hard to select him the next week running on one leg

Soooo does anyone give the Crusaders a chance this week? The Drua lose and the Crusaders win and somehow they're in the playoffs haha.

A chance? THere's always a starters chance, like the beat the Chiefs. But I see them losing and Drua winning

I was going to pick the Crusaders until I saw the team named. I was expecting Barrett & Blackadder because all the chat had been that those injuries were minor. It'll be tough with so many new combinations. Maybe a 20% chance?

Reds could easily beat the Drua in Fiji though. Lots of travel and Drua's away form was poor. That would be enough to keep the Crusaders alive

It's like a slow death with a glimmer of hope. It's time to put the Saders to sleep.

I still reckon they have a game or two left in them. If I bet, I'd take them as outsiders...

I don’t have much faith,to many repeat games with no sign of fixing the fundamental mistakes that are losing them games for me.

I was wondering if Fergus Burke makes a difference or not either. He's barely played as a starting 10 at this level but is a proper 10 and the best they have.

Also, what has happened to Zach Gallagher?

Yeah better than the other 10's but a long way from being a reliable starter. His reputation in the media seems to have grown as others fumbled

If the Crusaders win that 10/12/13 combo has to fire

The Brumbies defence has been off all year. The second worst team in terms of missed tackles. Tua the worst offender is only behind Chase Tiatia. However they do scramble well and their points conceded is ok. Teams with good support play have hurt the Brumbies this year

@Duluth Similar to here then, where the less you play, the higher you get rated.

Another area where these two teams were 1 and 2 in for many years was the set piece. Both teams in the past would hammer opposition at maul and scrum time, this year, not so much.

He was pulled around the 45minute mark. Didn’t know he got a calf injury but that in itself just proves my point. Haven’t played any rugby at all all season then thrown into the starting line up and gets injured again. Shock.

Fergus Burke, another one who hasn’t played any rugby at all all season and thrown straight into the starting line up. Wasn’t eased back through club footy or anything, we’ve seen how this goes…. Happy to be proven wrong but again, it’s turned into a theme.

Zach plays at my club here in Christchurch, the chat was he was meant to play club rugby on the weekend just been but that never ended up happening. Haven’t heard anything since.

Blame James Marshall for that out of his depth as a coach,
Halfpenny still has that calf injury.

@Duluth State of the Union lunch is on tomorrow with some players of both sides from that game. Don't know who yet.

One of them is Corey Flynn. I think the other is Aaron Mauger.

Blame the backs coach for team selections and not having players fit to play and select them to play when they’ve been out for the season? That’s a new one haha.

End of the day, the head coach makes these calls and has the power to override Marshalls wants. It lands on Penny. Unsure how you can’t acknowledge that?
