Yeah I remember the old man had this on vinyl.
As I mentioned when he passed away on here I always wished he’d teamed up with a great singer on a regular basis and got the superstardom his talent warranted. He just did some absolutely freakish stuff on the guitar. So much more amazing than any other guitar hero of that era ( Richie Blackmore comes closest in my opinion )

A lot of guitar music comes across as over-cooked and flashy which can sound really harsh to my ears after a while and doesn't stand more than a few listens.
This is the opposite - easy to listen to, appreciate and enjoy. In a weird way the guitar doesn't seem the star but like a singer serving the overall music. A lot is down to George Martin's production - every instrument is clear, precise and fits perfectly into the music overall.

Good call. Worth pointing out I’m not much of a fan of Van Halen, Satriani, Vai, Malmsteen etc.
If you play fast you have to have feeling too.

Good tune. The Yanks will lap that up

Cool
Hope they get to the Finals
-
@MiketheSnow My nephew wasn't that keen to enter - at some point he'd got to hang out with some girl who won Australia's got talent or something similar and she thought it ruined her.
In the meanitme it's doing wonders for their social media - and (IMO) you're right about that song appealing to the target market!!!

My nephew's band got kind of head-hunted to go on America's Got Talent. This is their quarterfinal song - spoiler alert: they've made it to the semis. I've used used my RWC "learnings"to advise them not to keep their powder dry!
They’re very talented! I thought the song was a touch cheesy - but their singing, chemistry and musicianship was awesome
They could absolutely kill it on the US country music scene
