@NTA Dare I say it, but Tones has a point here. Without Bob's gravitas the big reforms emanating from the Campbell Report wouldn't have happened. Contrast that with the Labor Party today and it's chalk and cheese.
And the clock collecting treasurer would be a trivia question at best.

Tony Abbott, showing just how much of a fucking laughable piece of shit someone can aspire to.
What's so bad about that? Most opposition pols say something similar, i.e didn't agree with their policies, but good person etc. Seriously Nick, you need to start charging that bloke rent for all the time he's been living in your head.
He called him a great PM ffs. What a horrible person.
-
@Rancid-Schnitzel he had a crack at "more recent Labor policy" in a statement about the death of one of our greatest ever PMs.
What a fucking plonker.
Could just have easily said "worked with all parties of the day" and left it at that, but no. Had to be a snide little shit.

See my post above.
And contrast the last 15-20 years with the previous 20 and it doesn't look pretty
Even scomo was gracious and well spoken by comparison, and he's a gibbering idiot

And that was so bad why? He's right. The Hawke cabinet was arguably the best ever. Contrast that with Shorten, that Wong bloke and co. Hawke himself would probably agree.
Btw there's some next level bile on that Twitter link. Probably from the same people lamenting the lack of decorum and decency in politics. Some people seriously need a mirror. How hateful do you have to be to follow someone you despise so that you can be outraged at their every utterance and then call them a fückwit with the rest of the mob. I'm no fan of Tony Abbott (I wish he would resign from politics - his time is over) but he's got far more decency and class than those hateful idiots losing their shït and spewing nonsense every time he scratches his head

From Keating's statement...
"In what was our last collaboration, Bob and I were delighted to support Bill Shorten last week in recounting the rationale we employed in opening Australia to the world. "Bob, of course, was hoping for a Labor victory this weekend. His friends too, were hoping he would see this.
He could have just said I was happy to see Bob last month.

It has to be about Keating.

It's hilarious how everyone hyperventilates about the bias of the privately owned Murdoch media, yet this tweet is a classic example of the astonishing bias of the taxpayer funded media. And people like this have the gall to accuse a guy like Trump of lowering the tone. Pot kettle black.

@NTA you are reading into this way too much.
Both sides have politicised it and dare I say it is sort of fitting for a political animal like Hawke.
-
@NTA Have you seen the Getup! instruction pamphlet on removing Abbott? It's pretty crazy, got sent to me a few weeks back, I'll have to have a dig around for it. A little concerning considering the foreign backers. I can understand why supporters who might not be so familiar with political skullduggery could be freaking out.

I have not. The getup thing looks bizarre* - no direct support but running almost guerrilla campaigns in key seats to take out Libs.
Personally would rather they'd ping Clive Palmer and Pauline Hanson. The potential they have to hold power in the senate is facepalm squared.
*More bizarre was "Captain Getup" by Advance Australia, rubbing up against a Zali Steggal Billboard. Another guerrilla campaign.
