@jegga that article just kept going and going.
Labor supporters here are all "BUT WHAT ABOUT THE LIBS!!!"
It's a fucking circus. Burn it down, start again.
The whole lot sicken me. Labor is courting the greens vote and giving a massive middle finger to their traditional voters who they've taken for granted for decades. The libs are all about being accepted by the fucktards in the media and mimicing their champagne socialist boss Malcolm. The less said about the Greens and other bottom feeders the better.
Agree NTA. Torch the lot.

@rancid-schnitzel it's really hard to decide what's worse: Labor courting the greens or Libs courting One Nation.
Reeks of sickening desperation.

Strong border control is supported by a majority of the nation. That is not courting One Nation . Nor is acknowledging that there is an African gang problem in Melbourne.

Spotting a trend ...... no matter what a left wing politician or party does the very VERY worst criticism they will receive people left of centre is 'they are as bad as the other team'

Whattabouttery is your last resort when you really don’t have a leg to stand on .
We saw it with Turei , the left were banging on about Bill English . Completely different situations , context and nuance are unimportant when indulging in whattabouttery though .Useless trivia , apparently the tactic has its roots in Soviet era Russian propaganda.

To be fair both sides are total shit in Australia, but the idea that the Liberal Party are shamelessly courting the far right is total nonsense. You can only arrive at that conclusion if you believe only the far right want strong borders. That is of course complete crap

Elaborate please?
A facetious interview question a couple of weeks back:
-
@rancid-schnitzel said in Aussie Politics:
Strong border control is supported by a majority of the nation.
Note: That depends entirely on which poll you choose to put your money on, and what questions it is specifically asking.
And One Nation aren't really about border control; they're about small-minded redneck politics in order to line Pauline Hanson's purse. But the Libs will go that way if it helps them stay in power, and understand that PHON are only a flash-in-the-pan party who may be here one day, gone the next.

So you don't believe a majority of Australians support strong borders? Which poll told you that? The one conducted of ABC employees? If the question was "Do you agree we should return to the time when the RAN was acting as a shuttle service for people smuggler vessels?" which was the actual situation, I doubt people would endorse that.
So which wildly redneck policies have the Libs been embracing recently?

What a snivelling little shitbag he is. No concept of good policy or ideology - simply chose the Liberals because it gave him a better chance of being elected.

Was there a poll done on that particular question?

The hard liners of the Liberal Party decided they'd challenge Spineless Mal with Potato Dutton.
Defeated of course, and Spud Lord has resigned his position as Oberführer for Border Patrol (administrative posting to Nauru, anyone?)
But the number wasn't overwhelming so Mal is now thinking of calling an election. That would be carnage.

clusterfuck.
ALP will win the next election by default. Coalition will attack in opposition, Shorten will get rolled in a year. And the merry-go-round of mediocrity will continue.
Winning elections is the only focus, not leading/governing. Awesome.

This is all so Stephen Bradbury.

Turnbull is finished. Abbott and Dutton will sit on the backbenches undermining him until he is done. Or he calls an election, and loses. Either way, gooooorrrrn.
