Watched "The Hunting Party" on the weekend. 3 journalists trying to find a Serbian war criminal 5 years after the end of the civil war, with Richard Gere, Terrance Stamp, and a cameo by a very un-made up Diane Kruger (still hot though).
Terrence Howard. yeah agreed, it was good value.

Terminator: Forgettable, disappointing, too much like a Bay movie. CGI was fantastic (chopper scene at the start is great), but plot was disjointed and the script was mostly average and sometimes downright cringe worthy ("I'll be back"). Worthington overshadowed Bale by a large margin.
yea whoops, realised that last night. who the fuck is terrance stamp?
General Zod in Superman II, plus he wore a dress in 'Priscilla, Queen of the Desert' -

But yes hes done alot more, they were just a couple of flicks he has been in that came to mind. -
Terminator Salvation was actually better than I expected.

I give it a rating of 4/10.

Went to see Sam Raimi's new horror-splatter-gore-comedy "Drag Me to Hell." It's got a smoking 93% rating at Rotten Tomatoes, but made me expect something more than it actually delivered.

Film is not as silly as his "Evil Dead/Army of Darkness" trilogy, and not as serious as "A Simple Plan," but contains elements of both.

Protaganist chick works as a loan officer at a bank. She's up for a promotion in a contest with a co-worker. When an elderly Gypsy woman with a glass eye pleads for an extension on her third late mortgage payment, the loan officer, wanting that promotion, plays hardball. And of course, the gypsy woman feels shame and puts a curse on the young loan officer. Gore and hilarity ensues.

Rating: 7.5/10 -
Have you guys seen the trailer for the new Peter Jackson-produced Wingnut flick "District 9" by a young Saffer director named Neill Blomkamp?
Heavy street display promotion for the film on billboards and across bus-stops in Toronto. -

hes a bloody good actor really, forgot he was recently in Valkyrie -
This may have already been covered, however due to the terrible, terrible waste of my life that I endured yesterday I am going to hammer it home.

I was stoked to see a LoveFilm envelope (postal DVD service here in the UK) on the doormat upon my return from gainful employment yesterday, and so after watching the Lions game I opened another bottle of Fursty Ferret ale and sat down to watch my movie.

Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull or whatever it is called.

Used to love watching Indy but this film was so terrible I am still quite angry.

Is there anyway to sue Hollywood for making such a dreadful film?

Swinging through the jungle like a monkey? Feck off. Surviving a nuclear blast in a fridge? Feck off again.

That may very well have been the stupidest scene of any film of last year. -

By rank..
Raiders of the Lost Ark (absolute classic)

Last Crusade

Temple of Doom

Crystal Skull

Logically theres a chance the next one (ok there wont be a next one), should be an improvement. Following the pattern of great, crap, great, crap. -
Virgil did you not like the last crusade ? shame on you xzxmad
I did, a decent 8/10...just a bit of a drop from Raiders which is a solid 9.25.
As a kid i loved Temple, only as i got older and revisited it did i realize how silly it was. -
Last Crusade actually doesn't stand up that well, watched it again recently and the seeds of the Skull were definitely sown. They destroyed the Brody character for cheap laughs, for example.

Temple of Doom is way under rated IMO, really good film. Raiders is one of the best films I've ever seen, pretty much perfect and I've seen it well over 20 times and it's never boring. -
wasn't the introduction of Le Bouf the seed for further Indy films?
It was the demon seed for South Park to create their infamous Indiana Jones rape episode. (Lucas 'n Spielberg starred as the rapists). -
Basically, but Lucas has another ida for one with Harrison. Think they are keen to do another one, but tey relly need to look at what worked for Raiders, stop copying the Mummy films, and ignore focus groups telling them what's popular.

Raiders worked because it was based on the old serials they loved as kids, so they should do another homage, and make a movie THEY would enjoy and not focus so much on the business side. And use as little CGI as possible.
