Anyone watched 1923, the following on from 1883 and probably a prequel or so prior to Yellowstone?
Finished it last night, largely decent, but there are 3 story arcs running, and by end the 3 arcs do not merge as you would expect, 1 I have no idea how it will merge in, and the other 2 just meandered along going no where, especially when you know how things pan out cos Yellowstone.
So I have to assume there will be a 2nd season of 1923 before they move onto 1963 or something...
This does not make me want to watch this. Sheridan’s stuff has a much shorter shelf life than he imagines. 1883 was good and stayed good because it had a beginning, middle and end. For sure, it offered the possibility of a follow on story but it stood up well on its own. Seems like he’s going down the route of milking it like a scouser does Hillsborough.
Patience
Loving the three arcs
Loved the series
Can't wait for the next one
Well fuck you. Now I’m conflicted.

@Catogrande don't get me wrong, it was a good watch, I guess I wrongly assumed it'd be a single series like 1883 which has annoyed/frustrated me, but by the same token, s2 (or 1924 cos im sure they are about to leave 1923...) could be v good too.
-
Ok, between you and @MiketheSnow youve convinced me. Now I’ll have to sign up to Paramount again, binge it and then bin them.

I gave up on Yellowstone after S2. I just felt that there must be a limit to the number of people you can kill in spectacular fashion without anyone noticing.
...just above there is a post about a secret group of warrior nuns, one of of which has magical powers and the main protagonist is an angle/demon....suspend disbelief

The Last of Us
Watched first episode
Well made
But isn't it just Fungi The Walking Dead?
I just couldn't get into it at all, sadly. Bailed halfway into Ep2. Will try again at some stage. As you say, it's well made and acted.

Last series of Endeavour (ITV) and it's building nicely to a climax.
One of the best things on TV IMHO.

You know what you're going into with a show about Warrior nuns though. The ranch show Yellowstone was sold as in streamer trailers was very different to the lesser version of Sons of Anarchy on horseback with the stupid characterisations that the show actually is.

Yeah that was pretty insane 😳

The Last of Us is certainly ramping up for the last episodes.
Things certainly escalated there!
He seemed like a nice genuine fellow at the start too…..

interesting and not really a spoiler, but the actor who plays the guy who was hunting with the "town leader" at the beginning, is actually the Joel from the video game I believe
-
@bayimports Yeah, a cool connection. I watched this last night, and he (Troy Baker) is in the video.

Can’t be too many people who’ve struck absolute gold with two amazing shows at the same time.
I thought The Rookie is a bit bubblegum.
Thanks for that

I’ve had a look at a couple of series based in the West Country, The Coroner (based in Salcombe) and Beyond Paradise (a spin off from Death in Paradise, based in Looe). I can heartily recommend missing both of them. Piss poor writing, plot, action, acting and production values.
Some nice scenery though.
Oh and poor casting too.

Return to Paradise is bloody awful, isn't it? Filmed in our nearest town but supposedly based in Devon.
