Lots of names bracketed in that Tasman line-up!

Both good teams, with Canterbury lucky to get Mo'unga back, and both teams not missing out on their selected Baabaas and Maori AB players. ABs - including new ones - missing, obviously.

I think this will be closer than last year's final?

For Aussie viewers Foxtel are not bothering to show this live. We get a replay at 6:30pm. Cnuts.

Idiots, I'd write and complain, but the last time I did that they just emailed me with a list of matches they were playing live ... with not even a perfunctory "sorry we have so much live sport we can't fit it all in ... blah, blah, blah ...)

Dont worry, we can watch the Wallabies vs Barbarians then the thrilling NRC where Fiji play the Rays. Then at 7.30pm we can watch the replay of the Mitre10 Cup.

This game has started exactly as I hoped. Tasman totally fearless, not impressed by the favourites status of Canterbury. They'll have to keep playing like this for 80 minutes though.

Geez, that was an absolutely brilliant try from Mo'unga. That's why he's on the ABs radar!

                                Brilliant solo run from Mo'unga.

                                      Half time: Canterbury 19 - 13 Tasman

Mo'unga having a blinder. Tasman had a great start, but as I feared, not able to continue playing like they started.

Tasman certainly have the shit up thier nose, Lowe and Taufua having a blinder. Lessons from the Lions about how to play against a superior team; stay flat and force errors.

Can some other Cantabs please start playing like Richie?

I'm not sure what else Whitelock could do TBH, other than find a bit of x-factor. I thought he was a bit of a donkey when he made that ABs wider training squad a few years back, but his last couple of seasons have been very good.
