NBA season 2018/19

This kid will be a one and done, he should be in the NBA right now. Looks like a potential LBJ level talent
-
I’ve been following Zion for the last few years. He’s got amazing athleticism for a guy his size. That full package has seen him dominate high school and AAU ball. He has improved his outside shot.
His game is NBA ready but it’s often the other stuff of being in the NBA that impacts on young stars. Going to college for even a year or two will help him with that.

@act-crusader
No way he will spend 2 years in college. He would go straight in if it wasn't for the rules.Absolute freak both ends from what I have seen.

He's a one and done for sure
-
Zion is IMO the most nba ready player I have seen since Shaq ans Lebron. I saw him for the first time in early 2017 and thought he was just another flat track bully. Hes the real thing though. The kid can dunk from thr FTL and touch the top of the back board.

Leanard - Traded
Parker - Traded
Ginobili - RetiredVery different looking Spurs team this year.

So Jimmy Butler has asked to be traded from the T-Wolves and his preferred destinations are the Knicks, Nets or Clippers.
After agitating for his move away from CHI, amid talk that he wasn't a great team mate, this does nothing to quell suspicions that he is in fact a locker room cancer. Sean Marks would be wise not to buy him, because he seems to throw his toys if the team isn't winning
-
Luka Doncic showed off his skills in a preseason game
http://www.espn.com/video/clip?id=24839799
Kawhi Leonard had one of the more awkward pressers ever on media day. WTF is up with that laugh????
-
Did anyone else see the Hallelujah tweet from Andrew Wiggins brother after Butler said he wants out.
Not that I’m a fan of Butlers, but his response was brilliant. He posted a video of himself working out doing defence drills.
-
well. Shit. As if losing all those players to trade/retirement wasn't enough, the Spurs have now lost their two best guards. Patty Mills to lead the team for the next 4 months. Joy.
-
Patty and DeRozan starting backcourt it seems. Although Pop doesn’t really use Patty as a true point guard and likes him working on the wings.
In preseason he’s been the 2 guard with Murray at the point.
Shame that Walker is injured too, because I think he was a draft dark horse.
-
Can't believe how excited i am for the start of the season tomorrow. Seriously, in 12 months I've gone from a mildly-interested fan, to looking forward to tomorrow as much as the start of the NFL.
And like the NFL, my team is going to suck this year.
-
Celtics with a handy lead over the sixers in the 3rd. Simmons off to a handy start with a double double already to go with 6 assists.
Celtics have 8 guys with at least 5 points
God i wish i could work from home.
-
Spurs win!
Pelicans hose the Rockets
-
Defence is now officially optional
Some of the scores over the first 3 games have been ridiculous.
Rondo is a love/hate sort of player but I’m liking him. He’s old school chippy and in a league where there is far too much chumminess, it needs a bit of Rondo’s edginess.
“He spit on me”, yeah right....
-
I dunno ACT, i saw a video that looked pretty damning. It's not a full-scale mouth full of goob hoiked in his face, but it looks like there was some transfer, and i would kick the fuck off as well.
Defense has been optional for ages, players, especially in teams that think they will go deep in to play-offs, aren't going to go all out in the first 40 games of the season. Add that to the fact that damn near everyone in the team can reliably hit a 3 and the scores keep climbing.
-
Haha 'without pay'. I watched that game yesterday. Ingram has a lot to answer for none of that stuff would have happened if he didn't pointlessly shove Harden. He just got smoked (and rondo had gotten smoked a bit in the game too hence the heatedness between him and CP3).
Lonzo ball played pretty well. Its weird having him and Rondo on at the same time. Both pass first guards, surely must be a bit easier to defend with three main inside threats. In saying that Lonzo hit some shots so had to start getting marked.
-
@mariner4life we need some Wallaby supporter to do a frame by frame to show whether saliva was transferred.
To me it looked like not much and may have been sweat for all we know.
On the incident that kicked it off, Harden does get the elbow up around Ingram’s head as he does his step through. Standard Harden move but given where the game had been going it was already on the verge on boiling over.
Paul threw a punch but only gets 2 weeks? Players Association rep.....
On the defence, yes it’s gotten progressively worse overall over a few years, but we haven’t seen these sort of big scores to start a season. It’s not only the 3 ball, but teams are speeding up their offence and the number of shot attempts is increasing.

back, and to the left. Back. And to the left.

@act-crusader there is actually close up video that shows that Rondo spat.

Spurs beat the Lakers.

Decent game that. Lakers looked gone at the end of regulation but hit some big shots. But then Spurs looked gone but LBJ misses free throws and a game winner.

The Lakers look reasonably competitive

Its hard to say if the Lakers are competitve as the Spurs are flattering to deceive.
They played quite well against Houston until losing it at the end. They are still getting to know each other on both ends of the floor but they are very athletic. 3 point shooting is a problem which was not a surprise
-
Losing their two most consistent 3 point shooters and two best perimetre defenders are going to have an impact.
Then to lose your starting point guard and the promising rookie before the season started again is going to mess things up.
I think LA and DeRozan will work well together and others will find their role.

LA and DeRozan are good enough to win us a lot of games if they stay healthy. Not enough to make any sort of a splash in that fucking conference though.
-
@mariner4life but they will over achieve imo. My OKC on the other hand....fuck me dazed these guys make it hard to support them. Poor percentage shots are all we take and thr high percentage shots we do attempt we dont hit.
-
@mariner4life watching Barkley trying to list his eight teams in the West that would make the playoffs was funny because there’s probably 3-4 teams that you’d say are definites to make it and then it gets a bit interesting after that with 7-8 others that all could. It’s early days but my picks are:
Definites
Warriors
Pelicans
RocketsMost likely
Jazz
Denver
Spurs
BlazersIn the race
Lakers
OKC
Dallas
Twolves (if Butler stays) -
I'm keeping my eye on the Nuhgets with former Taipan fan favourite Torrey Craig getting game time

And getting shots too. Like his game.
He got okay minutes last season about 15 minutes a game. Even started a handful. But I heard the Nuggets GM talking about him preseason and it definitely sounded like he would get better minutes and feature in the rotation more this season and definitely happened in the first 3
-
Steph Curry is having some kind of start to the season. Early days but he’s averaging 33/5/6 and the 50/50/90 is on target.

OKC finally get a W (was only v the Suns)
Adams a DNS and his replacement plays a good one (20-15)
-
@crucial Nerlens Noel is very solid and he does have the ability to put Adams on the bench for some match ups, if he can live up to his potential and stay injury free. He's just not got anything close to the physicality Adams has which is what youd favour against teams that dont have traditionally strong inside centres.
