Coronavirus - Overall

@Tim what makes someone a super spreader? Luck (bad) or is there more to it?
They were just saying in NZ thus far we have been extremely lucky none of of our positives in the community were super spreaders, whereas the Victorian case was.

@Tim and others; follow up to that
A friend of mine (who is a doctor, but is American...) told me today that you must have symptoms to be a super spreader. Can anyone back that up or can you have the virus and spread it unknowingly without being symptomatic (my understanding)?

We are riding our luck big time. Our low population density and our decent contact tracing system, along with solid awareness of the population to get tested when symptomatic seems to be helping significantly

Bill Gates must be collecting lots of data by now.

Interesting that central Portugal is now worst in Europe, that region does not cover Lisbon.
Isolated, sparsely populated parts of northern Sweden stick out.
Lombardy no longer sticks out, as all around the Alps now looks like, well, The Alps. -

@Rapido I wonder what Poland has been doing. Pretty evenly spread “low” rates
not reporting

Or reporting in Polish and no one can understand them?
Could be that half the population is staying inside and contributing to foreign sports forums

yeah you gotta wonder about some countries reporting, I mean India for example, thier numbers of late are excellent, both infections and deaths down, are they even vaccinating yet?

Dunno. about the even part. but the low part is probably because they avoided first wave.
At one point, maybe in Autumn, they were reporting as one of the 'worst' countries on the tracking sites (not per population). So, I'd credit them with counting.

Ha - 'people'.
That raises something I hadn't thought of before - India's official population is how-many fuck-tonnes? Imagine if they classed the "untouchables" as people, and included them as well? -
