Rumours are that RTS could be on his way to Union next year to chase the Black jersey.
If true, where will he end up?
I know him, Ardie and Laumape are all fairly close so hopefully the Canes. But my money’s on the Blues as that would make the most sense.
-
@Canes4life be a huge paycut to chase it though...not this season, but normally based in Auckland you'd think he'd stay there?
-
Well there is a spot at fullback open at the Blues next year if he wants it haha.
-
Not a loige aficionado and have not watched him play. But hear he is OK.
But ... to make fullback for the ABs he's got a bit of talent to get past.
Firstly Jordie. Gets some shit on here due to past indiscretions but playing well, is 6foot shitloads and kicks the ball 5kms.
DMac. On song is sensational. Goal kicker with awesome percentage.
BB. If RM is preferred at 10 becomes first choice 15
Dude has a lot of work to make it to No.1 No.15.

@booboo Duffie made the AB'S once - RTS is about 10 rungs better than Duffie.
If any leaguie would make it you'd expect it to be him, still in his relative prime and a NZ Schools rugby rep.
The Warriors will be fucked if he leaves.
I agree with thst

Not sure about that, Jordie has been by far the better Barrett this year. Beaudy can sit on the pine.

If the Warriors aren't based in Aust for all of 2021 I don't see RTS switching to rugby. This rumour is centred around not wanting to be apart from his family for an entire season.
I also don't think he'd be that great at fullback because he has no kicking game. It's not a skill needed in RL in that position. Wing would be the most likely position. That's where he played before going to RL.
-
@Canes4life Can't see Roger Tuivasa-Sheck immediately making the Hurricanes as Fullback, perhaps as a Wing.
Being an excellent player in League is no guarantee of success in Rugby. SBW and Brad Thorn after a lot of hard work became 50-Test plus All Blacks, but on the other hand Benji Marshall.

I would also imagine highly unlikely to be a fullback and perhaps not even a winger. I am not overly convinced with his ability under a high ball either. I do think he would be a handful in the midfield. He has a massive step and acceleration and can put wingers away with nice passing. Just would need to learn different defensive patterns

@bayimports a midfielder that could cover wing would be his best rugby position. I’d play him at centre because with just a little bit of space he can be very dangerous.

exactly this...I would hate to defend against him

Ya see, that's his problem, he's always kicking it dead.....
