@dogmeat Ohh that looks good. Haven't had one for years. My mum is in NZ and I ask her to bring some back but not sure she can. Have to settle on packaged stuff.
You could make some....
I suppose I could but cooking is not my thing and sometimes my Mum complains of differences in ingredients over here. Like the cheese is not as good as back home for her cheese scones.

Lammingtons are premade sponge if you don't want to make them, packet jelly, and coconut. Do americans like jelly?

Yes. P&J sandwiches. Their Jello is our Jelly. Their Jelly is more of a spread that looks like Jelly but is less dense. Hence they spread it over the peanut butter on bread. But I could look at the recipe and proceed. Sounds simple enough.

Those things are fucking terrible.
I'm not a cake person at all, but Lamingtons are surely kiddie food. Sponge cake dipped in chocolate rolled in desiccated coconut.
At a morning tea, my weakness is always
Fark yes!!! Them and parties pies, I could get through a mountain of each
100%! I get really annoyed at work if someone gets catering and they've tried to get something fancy instead of a selection of sausage rolls, party pies and those little quiches. They're also convenient in that I can load up a plate of them and take them back to my desk with minimal interaction with other people in the office.
Are you a cheerio slut as well? Cheerios with tomato sauce, or cocktail franks are the shizz
Had cheerios at our wedding. One caterer we were talking to refused to do them, offered oysters in shot glasses instead. Fark that, cheerios were super popular, and kinda funny
-
Wtf do people actually like those little party pies? They're either a nuclear core of skin off the roof of your mouth, or a cold lump of stodge. Either way they taste like nothing.

I draw the line at cheerios. Disgusting little things
Agree, them and Sizzlers are really just a small step away from dog food.

Sizzlers were the staple for every self respecting flat in the late 90s. Especially the cheese ones that often gave you third degree burns if you weren’t careful.

I really miss Sizzlers. Goddam they were yummy.
Cheese Sizzlers especially
-
These. Hard to get in the UK so make them ourselves - batches of 20 at a time.
-
There are so many of those things you had as kids that you think you really miss
Until you try them again.
But you guys still actually like them? Really?

I wouldn't waste your money on those. Once Cadbury changed the shape of their marshmallow eggs and moved its production to Australia they were dead to me.

Oh, the devastation, it’s almost too much to bear
