I never used to like Le Bron much, but he has grown on me this season. What a player.

Plus the fact I grew to really dislike GSW.

Have not been this happy for a team to lose in a long long time.

In 4.5 minutes, ten of the so-called best basketball players on the planet manage one field goal and one free-throw between all of them? :)

Irving is the only guy you could trust to eat a ham sandwich!

I'm pretty fucking far from a LBJ fan, but his effort this series is some all-time shit. What an athlete.

Well done Cavs.

I am never going to like him but have to respect him. Lebron gets his legacy. He could retire today. Some will say he did it with a stacked deck but Love was average throughout most of the playoffs. He deserves his place among the top 5 probably ever.

What a great win by Cleveland. All-time stuff from Lebron, and that late 3 from Irving was incredible.

Warriors bottled it in the end, didn't take a good shot in the last two minutes. Curry was below his best all finals, and so it was again tonight- showed glimpses of his best but couldn't get any consistency. Really good Draymond game but not enough from Klay or Steph.

This might see the Warriors make a big play for Durant. Think they'd be keen to offload Barnes, he's been incredibly shit these last three games.

LeBron also shot 53% from the field in the finals.

Other stats of note:

He became the third player to have a triple-double in Game 7 of the Finals, joining Jerry West in 1969 and James Worthy in 1988.

2-0 in Game 7s in NBA Finals.

Finally got to watch game 7. LBJ was a farken madman, he played a spectacular game when the stakes will never be higher. Irving continued his great play and even Kevin Love had a good game particularly on defence. Not taking anything away from the Cavs but all of the big guns for GSW failed to fire; Curry and Thompson shot poorly, Barnes continued in his funk, only Draymond Green stood up

Yeah, you have to think the injury played a part and was potentially worse then what they first made out. He was nowhere near the force he was before that.

Tracey McGrady mentioned a week ago on ESPN that he'd heard from someone close that Steph will need knee surgery in the offseason. If this is true it would explain a bit

Nah screw that. All the players had knocks and many had more serious injuries. Curry has no excuses.

If he was so badly impacted, he wouldnt have had those hot games and even screamed at people that ' He was back'

Curry categorically denied he was scheduled to have any surgery in the press conference yesterday. To his credit, he also wasn't making any excuses for his below par effort in the finals.

He shot badly but that was probably as much to do with the physicality that the Cavs brought more than anything. No one could have stopped LBJ though, he was a freak

Trade season is all go, the Knicks trade for Derek Rose and send a bunch of flotsam in return. They love their once great oft-broken stars don't they? (Amar'e Stoudamire anyone?). Probably good for Chicago and Rose to turn a page. Dwight Howard is lurking hoping for one more big contract, frankly I don't think he's worth it but some desperate team will pony up the cash for him. His best days (like Rose) are behind him

Strong rumours that both the Warriors and Spurs are going to make a play for Durant. If KD ends up in Oakland their starting 5 will be very scary. Add Durant in place of Barnes and you might as well give GSW the title now. How they fit everybody under the salary cap is another story.

Someone is taking a hometown discount big time. Or they are brown bagging like they do in the NRL....

The cap is set for a massive rise next season, so getting Durant is not as unlikely as it may seem. And he won't be taking a 'hometown' discount (hometown is DC) but more of a 'I want a ring' discount.

They'd have to dispense with Harrison Barnes, and probably a few of their role players like Festus Ezeli, Shaun Livingston, maybe Andrew Bogut too.

If Durant wants to come, they will make it happen. The ball is in his court, and frankly I really doubt he'd leave OKC.

yea Barb, that chat is the cap rise will allow a few super teams to be created around the league. The only question is how does a coach control all the egos who will not like getting to take all the shots?

Durant is worth throwing all of the money at.
