Crusaders much less impressive without Will Jordan. David Havlii's worst game at 12 this year too.

David Havili certainly struggled in defence tonight.

That game reminded me of the bad old days of Super rugby when the much slicker NZ teams would try to do way too much clever shit without bothering to get the basics right. The Aus teams would just hang in there, build up a head of steam and then snatch an unlikely win. Obviously that didn’t quite happen tonight but fark me, the Crusaders did everything in their power to get the Brumbies over the line.

@bones Jordan, Drummond - Barrett and Reece on the bench - along with Sione Havili out.

    The whole backline was juggled.

Not what I would have done vs the second best Australian team and dipping toes in the water.

@machpants what have I missed with these milk references?

I said saders are going to lose, @Nepia said that would age like milk

    Fucking Ennor is awful

I don’t think that was me?

Brumbies defended and tackled bloody well. Those long phases of crusaders possession in the middle of the field featured some excellent tackling.

@antipodean don't complain about the ref vs the Crusaders.

Well refs let saders win this one

How so? What was the final penalty count?

Penalties were Crusaders 16 against them Brumbies 11 against them so hardly The Ref helped us win.
The game was not helped by the Ref or linesmen.
Typical Brumbies they are scrappy and disruptive ,they will be hard to beat if they have an Aussie ref as they will get away with slowing the game down to go to set piece to set piece

Got to say though the saders should have lost, can’t seem to put my finger on it but they seem to have a knack of walking away with these tight ones and if anything seem to be more and more scrutinised by the ref, assistant refs, TMO and Justin Marshall

@nevorian Just a natural phenomenon I think. Officials are human and whoever is at the top gets a negative narrative and the officials, as much as they try, have to be influenced by it all. The ABs in Europe during the end of year tours were subject to extra scrutiny especially around foul play where local players could get away with things the ABs couldn't.
The alternative is losing and the scrutiny (and whinging) transfers to the team that is winning.
