    George Bell

    All training with the Crusaders

i mean, the crusaders dont often get things wrong...so i get worried when the Highlanders let these guys with strong connections to Dunedin go and the Crusaders pick them up, even just in a WTG

George Bell was in the Crusaders academy in 2021. Crusaders picked him up quite young.
He is good with ball in hand reminds a bit of a young Dane Coles,I am not saying he will that good, but Coles style player.

Any chance he could be a hooker? I'd have the perfect nickname for him...

HaHaha,Open side Flanker .Maybe if he gets that nickname he will have to revert to a hooker.

Some info in this article about when ABs return

    https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/super-rugby/300508506/super-rugby-crusaders-braced-for-looming-bubble-announcement

The full Crusaders’ All Blacks contingent returned to training on Wednesday, but only Braydon Ennor, Scott Barrett and George Bridge will feature in the pre-season (40 minutes in next Friday’s game against the Hurricanes).

They still haven't confirmed the length of Mo'unga's break

While pivot Richie Mo’unga will miss the first two games – against the Hurricanes and Highlanders – the development has further delayed clarity regarding exactly how many games he will sit out to start the season.

Mo’unga, who is entitled to take up to six weeks off due to a clause in his contract, was expected to agree on a return-to-play plan with Robertson after the revamped Super Rugby Pacific draw was released in December.

However, that’s been pushed back until after the bubble plan has been confirmed.

I'm glad he got it written into his contract, or he'd be out there in week 1.

There is nothing more important to NZ rugby than the Saders winning another title.

Yeah, lately. But there was a time when our wingers were Digby Ioane, Keiron Fonotia and Nafi Tuitivake.

Yeah, in his prime. I don't actually think he played a game for us anyway? Luckily by 2017 we had Timanivalu and Mataele join and we already had Bridge. It must have been in 2015/16 under Blackadder when we had some truly awful backline combos trotted out including Fonotia, Tuitivake and I think Rob Thompson used on the wings at times when Nadolo-ball wasn't an option while Toddy also used to like to play as many 10s as possible which meant Tom Taylor - a useful fullback at provincial level - often playing 15 as well. Shudder.

Not many (if any). He played 3 games plus he also played the Brisbane Tens.

Some of his backline selections were simply inept, and you'll recall we never seemed to have any creativity or punch in the midfield and just swung it back and forth from wing to wing, hoping Nadolo or Reado would create something. Fuck it was hard to watch. Just no imagination. Remember when we managed to lose to the Sharks at home despite them receiving an early red card and then also a yellow? I find it hard to believe now that we came so very close to winning a title in 2014.

I remember all of that,The most frustrating period of watching rugby I can think off,
That going from sideline to sideline until we lost the ball or got penalised was terrible to watch, You always knew what the outcome would be.
Razor has been such a breath of fresh air.

@chris I've told this story before, but one day during that period I was at the supermarket and Hamish Riach was there. I walked past him and said " Hey Hamish, the outside back aisle is over there"
