clearly wasnt thinking, as there was no way to make a cleanout there, without connecting his shoulder or head with the Frenchmans head...it required him coming in attaching and driving.

@taniwharugby There were even two Springboks involved. Obviously, only one of them contecting, but it was a double "clean-out", whick kind of makes PSD's worse.

that maul showed everything that is wrong with officiating of them...SA joins ahead of the ball, then the Frenchman comes around as well, yet the French are pinged

@Winger Yep, but the "North" didn't want it, supposedly because it has no deterrent effect. Well, what a deterrent the "whole-game-red-card" is! It's still happening all the time!

    That's PSDT's season over.

2022 will be a very forgettable season for him. Ignominious year for sure.

SA lineout is crap. Maybe an early replacement needed at hooker

Marx is on and the lineout is won at last. Try SA

14 man SA really holding their own against the French, solid performance so far.

I'd like WR to change the rules so that once the ball is under the 8s feet, the scrum is all but over and teams cannot hold it and play for a penalty, if something happens then, is a free kick or reset instead of a penalty.

What if the scrum is going forward and the defending front row collapses to prevent a pushover try?

@Frye I did say all but over, although TBF, more often they collapse due to pressure, not deliberate, which is where I have an issue with playing for pens.

But I guess like alot, rules are looked at differently in different parts of the field, I mean you arent gonna try march up the field at scrum time from 80 are you, you are playing for a pen.

This game is brutal. France are stringing a heap of players together at the ruck to give Dupont unobstructed clearing kicks.

Scrappy first half with both teams playing a defensive style with a lot of kicking. Boks have already had 12 lineouts (lost 3 of them).

That PSDT clean out was very reckless. A red mist moment for sure.

Boks do scramble well defensively when down a player so it will likely come down to whether France know how to create space. They will need to change their tactics a bit because I think they got sucked in a bit to playing too narrow. What I will say about France is that I don’t think they mind playing defence on this Springbok attack.
