RIP 2023

Well that sucks. Rourke was amazing with the Smiths. Prominent bass that somehow managed to fit in with perfectly with whatever Marr was doing

I wasn't born when he played, but they say he was one of the greatest running backs ever. I remember him in the Dirty Dozen though, it was probably quite a strong role for a black man in America at that time. He was one of a crop of prominent socially aware black athletes at the time, Ali, Abdul Jabar among others.
Very good in The Running Man and Any given Sunday. Huge screen presence. RIP
Arnie's Running Man?

You got it. Classic flick.

Wow I didn't even remember him. Great film though
Yeah I’d say it’s Arnies most underrated to be honest. Awesome flick
Great star turn by Richard Dawson(?), of Hogan's heroes fame
The whole thing is awesome. Who else but Arnie could deliver a line like “there’s Sub Zero, now plain zero !”…..
A supporting cast of Yaphet Kotto, Jesse the Body Ventura and of course the recently departed Jim Brown doesn’t hurt either. Easily one of my absolute favourite Arnie flicks, I love a good dystopian future 80s romp….and as you say Dawson plays such a good creepy bad guy.
I’m amazed Hollywood hasn’t done a shitty remake to be honest.

I haven't seen it, but that movie series with Jennifer Lawrence sounds like a woke version

Jim Brown personified ‘yards after contact’
Amazing balance, strength, power & pace
He was great in ‘Mars Attacks’ too

I only really know him from a handful of flicks and even in a suit and tie at the start of the Running Man ( before he changed into his fireball outfit ) you could tell he was an elite athlete. Doesn’t surprise me in the slightest he was a top football player.
