To me the biggest thing is that LF has reportedly said he doesn't really care about the ABs (can't find link, but did read that).
Something didn't go right. I suspect he knows that he has shit the bed with other players and his best option is overseas.

You may or may not be right. Context is everything. Media were talking him up, asking him about being in the ABs. He answered with possibly a badly worded reply (I can't remember the exact words he used). Maybe he just meant that at that stage of the SRP competition, the ABs weren't on his mind because at that moment, SR/Crusaders was more important. I think way too much importance is given to the use of certain words.

OK. I thought it was a more specific question than that one. Will have a search.
If it was "ABs aren't my priority" when focussed on the Saders then, yep, a media deliberate bit of misdirection.

Edit: maybe the source of that was this...

“Growing up, there's always been boys saying, 'I want to be an All Black,' but it was always a weird feeling for myself,” he said.
“Like, it wasn't really a fire burning in my stomach. All I knew was my goal in life was to give back to my family, support them.”

I have no issue with that but it does possibly highlight his thinking on taking an overseas contract over repping the ABs.
For all we know he has said this directly to coaches as well and they want to invest in others.

@Crucial I reckon Jordie would definitely play first five before Havs. Maybe TJP as well, if he happens to make the squad.

A few quotes about wanting to support his family, and about liking league more than rugby.

I'm not sure I would read much into it, except it does appear that he was probably on the Piutau train (cash in early). I don't have a problem with that either.

End result is that while the selectors are probably not closing the door they may be more interested in opening others.

The fact Leicester never played last year after that second test is quite telling. Not a great sign for him.

More to the point he left the EOYT before playing a match and wasn't called back.

Maybe the personal reasons were genuine. His replacement (Telea) also played well enough not to be dropped.

Still, it doesn't add up in his favour.

    @Crucial

    LF did rejoin the ABs.

And then he played for All Blacks XV.

Also, Telea played on the right wing. If anything, they persisted with the ineffective Clarke.

Stop bringing facts to discussions on the Fern. You have been warned.

@nzzp at this point, will have to go on my tombstone. Not going to get any more creative than that.

There are still some big games to come and the likes of Goodhue, Heem, Ennor, LF could either confirm or deny their own destiny.
Without injury the only spot available would be a Utility one, a midfield/wing.

    J.Barrett, Ioane, Proctor, Heem, ALB.

Havili & Ennor shouldn't be in the conversation.

Havili might have ruled himself out if his hammy injury is bad.

Havili and ALB will be there because Foster.....Dont see Heem and Proctor getting a look in.

    He won't roll those dice.
