I'm not a Chiefs fan (well actually, I support the Chiefs as much as all the NZ sides) I'm ABs fan....Ardie is a talent, of that there is no doubt, but he is behind Cane, by some distance I expect, however as we know a number of players might only be an injury away from becoming a legend.

I'm a Blues fan and Cane is superior to Ardie at this stage. As has been stated Cane has delivered at test level, is the clear first choice AB 7 and playing extremely well.

Ardie is having a great season in his own right, better than expected i'd say given that he has been away with the 7s. With the 7s it will look like Ardie will have to wait til the EOYT at the earliest to get his shot in the AB jersey.

Errors

Penalties Conceded

Turnovers won

Cleanouts

To get the full picture.

I'm happy that they're both playing so well though.

I honestly don't think the All Blacks this year will skip a beat. Many pundits (mostly overseas) have suggested that the departure of so much experience would hit them hard, but it looks like instead we will get a rejuvenated squad that will be able to stamp a fresh mark.

Losing McCaw is always going to be a blow, but there is now room for a guy like Savea in the squad to offer something new. Fantastic!

Hes faster, Id say pound for pound hes the strongest player in Super Rugby and if you watch his work rate he is unbelievable. A mate and I were watching the game against the Rebels and were just gobsmacked at how good he is for a 21 year old. Mark my words he will be the best Canes player ever by the end of his career.

even then you don't paint the full picture, as Wayne Smith often alludes in regard to tackle stats and a bunch of others probably too.

Don't think there is as much of a gulf between the two in terms of form and class as some suggest. Cane is number one no doubt due to his experience and performances in black. However that has no relation to Savea. Just means he was on the scene earlier and took his opporutunities well. I have no doubt that if cane and todd werent around that Ardie would have been mccaws back up for the last season or two. The ABs management have rated him for a long time.

Don't really agree with the calls that Savea's qualities won't translate to tests. Going hard trucking up the ball in traffic, good breakdown work, good defence and skills and pace in the open is exactly what i want from an AB 7. Completely different player to say Adam Thompson who was great in the open but suffered in contact.

Regardless im glad we have them both and would much rather Cane and Savea to poopah, who people around the world have been raving about for ages now. Having Cane and Ardie together is almost like Mccaw 2.0 and Jones 2.0 (in playing style not just skin colour)
