@jegga as long as she doesn't start mincing I could handle
That’s Clarke’s job

Will Ardern dress up like a firefighter when she visits sky city today?
I don't want to sound like a prick, but the way she was going on I think she was trying to turn this into her Chch earthquake. It's a building fire at the end of the day, a big one, but that's all
-
@jegga I hope you replied to him about his political grandstanding and making light of an incident where people are hurt...
Given the reason it is burning and stinking will be due to the materials used, I wonder if they have used recycled materials to meet some environmental standards

There’s mention of straw in the roof catching fire? I’d like to know what that’s for , Ive never heard of it outside of straw bake houses

@jegga very eco-friendly I expect...less good for fire retardant.
You not heard the story of 3 Little Pigs? one of them built a house of straw!
Didn’t burn down it blew away though . It probably was insulation which is weird because there is recycled insulation available.

Wondered when people would question the building materials as it does seem odd.

Yeah, made of glass, which is unlikely to burn for a day. Others products too. All seems very strange.
You know more about this stuff than me Jegg but how could that actually happen? They are all fire resistant material aren't they?

I’m not sure why it’s still burning , someone said today it might have been a torch on roof which is basically asphalt and it was the applicators torch that started the fire . If it is a torch on roof that would explain why the fires still burning .
I doubt his publicly liability insurance comes anywhere near what this is going to cost so he’s probably on a plane to the Gold Coast .

@jegga most tradies have $1,000,000 - $5,000,000 PL, some doing big projects like that might have $10,000,000, so yeah likely to be huge shortfall...you'd hope he is working for the main company with much larger PL cover.
Cost of damage, + the interruption cover for Sky City having to keep punters out, travel policies for those staying there whose luggage might be in room if they have had to leave NZ, change of hotels, flights...expect neighbouring businesses probably need to claim too.

Just read an article that said the roof panels are flammable, but no one entertained any scenarios where they could catch fire themselves... yeah, about that....

The torches are noisey so it’s hard to leave them on ? Well probably not that hard on a noisey building site when you are wearing ear muffs .

That is farking stupid. At least the roof went up now rather than when the building was filled with people

My office aircon was pulling the smoke inside until they turned it off. Stank out the building.
