My reading of it was:
TL;DR: An aussie team should be guaranteed a spot in the final.
ie: an extreme version of the bad old days when each country (AU,NZ,SA) was guaranteed a spot in the top 3 of the table. -

People attach an asterisk to every title in every sport now, it's such low quality trolling. NBA fans are the absolute worst for it.
I support a few teams you could add 8 asterisk to a title and i wouldn't give even one solitary fuck.
