I am not sure how Beck endorsing Clinton is news worthy, he has long loathed and attacked Trump. Lots of conservatives dont like Trump.. I thought that was widely known. I guess some people just have not been paying attention.
Trump is a child of the disaffected, not getting endorsements support from the establishment (media or politicians) is nothing really new. That people are amazed by Beck attacking Trump yet again... just shows they still don't get it.
People all over the political spectrum hate Trump.

Because as much as he loathes Trump, Clinton is still a dreaded democrat. And I vaguely remember enough of his Fox News show to be bemused by it all...
Re: newsworthy, when was that last a criteria for anything in the news these days? (Sigh).

My point being him not liking Clinton is nothing new, he has been very vocal for a very long time about that.

Which makes his very backhanded "endorsement" of her significant. She's his least worst option which I'd imagine is true for a significant amount of voters

I see DonDon is on the attack against members of the GOP, especially Ryan, for walking away from him. The party will need to take a long look at themselves before the next election and try to provide their members with better alternatives to reunite the party

No. What they need to look at is how they as a party have become so incredibly disconnected from their own voter base and the voter base in general. Trumps ideas and policies are popular.. and would win this election. Trump as a person is a fuckwit.. and is why he will lose the election.

I don't think you can disconnect Trumps fuckwittery from his ideas and policies though.
Only a person such as he would put them up in the first place.I don't think a candidate with those policies but a less bombastic person than Trump would even see the light of day.
I do agree about the disconnect from the Republicans. The Democrats only seem to be hanging onto support as they can paint themselves as the 'light side of the force' for those wanting to combat evil.
Surely someone is waiting until a few days before the 3rd debate to release the next 'bombshell'. Rumours are about of the use of the 'N' word.

Plenty of his ideas have real merit (some don't.. like any politician)no matter how much the left and social justice warriors might loathe them. Your attitude which is shared by alot of people is the exact reason why many feel disconnected and want to raise the middle finger at the polling booth. -

One post and in come the boots.
I wasn't talking about all of his policies and ideas just the ones a fuckwit would come up with.
I do understand your point about disconnected voters etc etc, you have been making it ad-nauseum all thread. We all get it. Maybe the pomposity is yours? Assuming that everyone else just doesn't understand.
You entirely missed the point I was making in the haste to snap back as well.

I think we sort of agree.... It shows how much of a mess the GOP is that an outsider has managed to come in and run over all of their preferred candidates. Some of his policies aren't even in line with standard GOP doctrine yet he has come this far anyway. They will have a lot of work to do to have their message resonate with their own party

This is a bloody effective response to celebrity endorsement

The YouTube channel subtitle: "Saving the world from bad advertising... 30-seconds at a time."
How ironic. Considering this was well over 30 seconds, and utterly shit (generously, I'm even ignoring the pro-Trump spiel between 1:40 and 2:00).
Their point about the actors was good. But so what? People are going to use whatever platform and power they have to support who they want.
-
@NTA
It is not utterly shit at all, considering the point is to try and counter the Hollywood star appeal on campaigns.. which you then also admitted was good.
I much prefer a video mocking the Hollywood stars over the one where Hollywood stars campaign... that would be regardless of who presented what. -
@NTA said in US Election Thread 2016:
The point was good. The delivery was shit. Why spend time sarcastically slagging Clinton, or promoting Trump if they were after the actors as their main thrust?
I agree with this. If the video didn't repeat EVERY point three times it would help. Used sparingly it's a good dramatic effect like on the 30,000 times bit.
Still, I'm over having some twat tell me who to vote for or what to care about.

Well it's aimed at people that actually listen to and value the opinions of celebrities over everything else. So given their obvious lack of intellect and education repeating every point three times was probably neccessary.
I thought it was pretty funny, highlighting the stupidity of celebrity "endorsements" as if they mean anything.

Trump wants to bring back torture, he wants to deport illegal immigrants, he opposes the TPPA, supports the no-fly list being used to strip constitutional rights, wants to defund planned parenthood, has threatened trade war with Mexico (which would be to the detriment of both countries) if they don't pay for the wall, he wants to audit the fed, has no plans to reform the police, opposes the Iran deal, believes Putin is a strong leader, no plans for gun control, no policy for healthcare other than to replace Obamacare, has suggested South Korea and Japan should have nuclear weapons, has suggested closing up the internet etc
The real problem with Trump is that he offers no details. He wants better vetting of immigrants but cannot say how. He also lies so often and repeatedly changes his mind about policies that it is just impossible to believe what he says.
@Crucial 's point is well illustrated by Russia. In 2012, Romney called them America's greatest geopolitical threat. Many Republicans said Obama was stupid because he dismissed this concern and then Russia invaded Ukraine. Now Republicans are backing a candidate who openly supports Russia and thinks they should be better friends. This pro-Russian sentiment didn't exist before Trump. Trump came along said "I'm with you" and people followed him along. Many of his policies had no significant constituency before Trump.
