Anyone know why Munro wasn't in India?
at last inspection he was a truly horrible player of spin. good eye though, and can smash a ball.

Latham, Guptill, Williamson, Nicholls, Munro, de Grandhomme, Watling, Santner, Southee, Henry, Boult
That lineup will put even more pressure on our top 3. Could be pretty nervy if we lose early wickets. I guess we have our insurance at no.9 though....

@Virgil Didn't that happen to Ian Butler in Melbourne at Etihad? And then we ended up winning the game (The Matt Sinclair catch game)?
Think it's standard practice for every new black caps bowler to get tonked in their first odi in Aus.
Well except for this guy, he did OKish.. -
@Virgil not if it's fast enough.. if it's high 130s and he gets smacked then yup, but if anyone hits 150 clicks then i don't care if they get smacked first time out, there's still something there to get excited about. at least until the inevitable injuries hit.

Fuck. 15 years? Doesn't seem like that long.
Even when I'm 80 I'll still remember that series like it was yesterday...
-
Will always have a fond spot in my heart for the caps team of the late 90's early 2000's
Sure we were shit 75% of the time, but a lot of my favouritist players played then, Astle, Bond, Flem, Cairns (before we knew he was an alleged fixer), Nash, Macca, Lou V, Oram, Pig, Rigor and Dan the man -

One of the few times i can recall a nz quick physically intimidating Australian batsmen. Glorious
-
@Bovidae seems ridiculous. They have both shown they can bat pretty bloody well, more so than the supposed specialists they have now. Why do they insist on pigeon holing them like that?
If they can bat better than the next bloke, who gives a rats arse if they don't bowl anymore, pick them as bloody batters.
Simple. -

Our middle order options worry me. A lot.
Its time for Neesham and Anderson to give up bowling I think and concentrate on becoming top notch specialist batsmen.
I don't remotely buy Anderson as a specialist batsman, his technique is 90% slog. When it comes off its wonderful, but he hasn't got the range of shots or the core technique to bat consistently. I'd happily have him at 5 in the ODI side with Watling at 6 & Santner at 7. But he needs to be good for 5 overs or so. especially if 8 is Neesham, or even if CDG is at 7 & Santner at 8.
The side Chris named -
(Latham, Guptill, Williamson, Nicholls, Munro, de Grandhomme, Watling, Santner, Southee, Henry, Boult)
looks right, but also looks like 80 runs off the 10 overs our 5th bowler provides. I'd be batting Watling ahead of CDG too... and jeez that middle order is shithouse -
Aus to bat. They've left Faulkner and Maxwell out. Mitch marsh in!
We're starting Ferguson.
