@no-quarter but stuff is banned and censored all the time, there is literally a government organisation to do it
Office of Film and Literature Classification
to be clear, i find tings like the toilet thing funny, or at least i did when the first started appearing, so i think those complaining about it are wasting time/energy and oxygen, but i also dont think an funny bathroom sign is worth dying on a hill over

@kirwan as long as people realise the "woke brigade" ,or at least most of them, feel theyre pushing back against unacceptable behaviour...so if you step out of either camp for a second you'll see a lot of similarities in behaviours only separated by what specifically is offensive to each group
an ironically one of the only other differentiators is the "dont engage with something if going to offend you" argument ....but the ones calling for that are also failing to do it
It’s just like the Christian conservative nutjobs decades ago. They haven’t gone away but everyone now tells them to feck off when they try to push back against unacceptable behaviour. They’d still be getting their way if it wasn’t for pushback. Same goes for the lefty Woke Brigade. It doesn’t have to be a tribal thing.
and thats where it get really interesting, you'd probably find plenty of "lefty woke brigade" claiming it was them pushing back against conservative nutjobs
No, they just ban stuff that is against the law, and offer guidelines based on age for other content. They don't regulate based on political speech, expression of opinions, or "hate speech".
That's not the same as people deciding they find something offensive and starting campaigns to have it banned, or someone fired for their opinions etc.

Seeing something in a bar toilet that you were offended by, and taking the time to post it online to let everyone else know about it? Sounds exhausting. Just take a piss and go back to your drink 🥱
You’re as bad as them now.
What? I'm just saying that's the world we are in these days. Rather than just walk out, someone finds the time to photograph something and release it to the world attached to a rant. Then MSM latches on and gives it more oxygen. It just all seems incredibly futile, and as KW said people seem to find so many things to get offended by and see it as their place to tell the world about it. MSM should be better than that, but we all know that they're not
exactly, its one of the reasons i wasn't upset when news briefly got banned from facebook, for a week i was forced to go looking for news and i found if i had to look for it it was less likely to be something i would be annoyed by

@no-quarter surely you realise its ever changing
they 100% would have censored stuff 50 years ago that would be shown at prime time now
-
@no-quarter wasn't it them that stopped The Red Pill being released in NZ?
-
I am angry that is is not in the grumpy old man thread, if anything screams angry, it has to be a thread called "F off with PC Brigade".
that is all

I didn't realize they banned it. That goes way outside what they state on their website as that is pretty obviously politically motivated. Probably another example of the PC brigades exaggerated influence on society.

I am not 100% sure that's why I put the question out there. I know it was next to impossible to get hold of.

Oh lol. A short bit of googling revealed nothing, it's a bit of a mystery why it's not available in NZ. I figured no NZ companies wanted to pick it up given the "controversy"surrounding it.

@mn5 did anyone actually read the articles about the Mr Potato head?
my understanding after reading them was it was only the brand name that was changing, as there is more than just the Mr in the range...but there was still going to be a Mr and and Mrs and all the others
seems like everyone lost their mind at the slightly sniff of wokeness

It is available on Amazon Prime Video in NZ. Just checked, still available.

Here is some more nonsense.
I'm glad both complainants have been put in their place.
People complaining about the use of Te Reo, really? Is this the 1950's, or 2020's?

One thing that shits me about the woke brigade is how often they declare themselves an ally or spokesperson for a group, then decide what that group is fine and not fine with. Case in point, the other day I heard someone lecturing a kid cos they said 'disabled person' rather than 'person with a disability'. Now I know heaps of authors with chronic illnesses, blindness, partial amputees etc and they all agree on one thing: they are totally 100% fine with being referred to as disabled and wish the 'allies' saying otherwise would fuck off.
In summary, don't blame the marginalised group, because so often it's not them at all, but some fucking numpty who has decided to be offended on their behalf.
