Are we sending him to Oz once sentenced? or are they paying for his incarceration?
There is no value in rehab for this filthy animal which goes against my general feelings on aiming for rehab with as many prisoners as possible.
Even in this case I'm not a favour of the death penalty. Unsure of the vagaries of law here but I'd prefer they factored in parole after a maximum sentence so there is no chance for appeal etc. Although I'm working on an assumption that this fucker will never change and even if he attempts it his crimes are such that he's in the can for life.

So what is the difference between a true life sentence and the death sentence?
Genuine question. Not advocating for.
Hypocrisy. Punishing the premeditated taking of life by legislating the taking of life.

Study him. (Privately) Get his background story and motivations so we might be able to prevent and deal with others that will surely arise in the future.
Pretending he's an actual monster is infantile
What's a monster?

@Virgil Definitely should send him back, they do it with our scumbags. He can live out on that island
Totally agree with this.
Reap what you sow convicts!
Happy to be all high and mighty sending those that have developed a life of crime in Oz back over here to inflict on us.
We should dump this scumbag out the back of a C130 over the Simpson Desert then send David Coleman the coordinates.
'Hey cuz, just returned one of your ferals. By the way he is a convicted mass murderer and a complete headcase. Do with him what you will' -

I certainly don't want our lot that are in their prisons coming back to do time here. We get a much better deal by keeping him here

do they still get sky and takeaways in prison?

A ficticious creature used to scare children into conformity.🙂

Apparently not

Oh good, my taxes contribute to the cost of keeping him in prison for the rest of his life plus whatever other expenses incurred to keep him safe from other inmates.
Yay.
You probably won't notice it, I imagine.

I'm glad he got life without parole. Now he can live out his days in a cell with his one hour exercise a day or whatever and be ignored by media etc.
Couldn't believe that sack of shit tried to bring restorative justice to the table. All those who survived and the families of victims have suffered enough.

I’m a somewhat educated, somewhat well-read person, and despite knowing all (well, most of) the reasons why it is a bad idea, I still support the death sentence. And this fluffybunny deserves it and more.
Sadly, the shit that used to be possible in prison (for better or worse) is just no longer flying or possible (my old man is a retired screw) , so this fluffybunny is unlikely to have 20 chocs on him not walking back to his cell.

@Mokey and trying to video call in to avoid facing anyone (or 'saving the state money' as his lawyer put it!). So proud of the family members who spoke - I hope those words and their utter contempt for him are on constant repeat in that small, dark little mind of his.
