@Nepia yeah you could be right.

That new movie Heretic had a mormon theme to it, and I recently had an interaction that lead to me to learn more about mormon life.

There's a shit load of Mormon content on YT these days. I was watching a doco about ex Mormons and they were talking about how young women in the church were encouraged to become influencers on the platforms, but often the trad wife ones (which I don't understand, if you're a trad wife why are you running a social media business)?

A bunch of my relations are Mormons (some studied at BYU - Brigham Young Uni), I've always found it odd that so many Maori are Mormon considering how racist the church was back in the day. (TBF, that is likely true of all the churches Polynesians adopted when colonised).

I didn't see Heretic, but saw the trailer, so the two girls were on their mission and door knocked on Hugh Grants place?

The Book of Mormon musical is great, obviously the church aren't great fans of it.

@Nepia i think its pretty telling that the church aren't great fans...but cant stop it because although they present in a humorous tone its largely (completely) true

Might get shit for this but the Mrs and I really enjoyed the Gavin & Stacey 2024 final. Didn't realise there had been releases after the 3rd season until recently. We ended up watching the show right through again along with the 2019 special which I thought sucked but the 2024 one made up for it. Show still holds up.

The Agency concluded fairly well. Some good action and a twist. Apparently it has been renewed for another season.

Finished American Primeval, all up a good series.

By the end I did like the brooding loner character and even the main female wasn't as annoying by the last episode.

Guess it has been left open for a 2nd season.

Watch Home Improvement from start to finish, great series.

Silly humour with plenty of genuine laughs and heartfelt moments, were also a couple of eps with topics I felt were ahead of thier time as well.

Yep, now I’ve finished Squid Show this will be on the watch list for sure.

    Speaking of……

Frustrating cliffhanger ending. Interested to see what develops with the 001 character. Obviously an ‘inside man’ but in saying that was definitely put in lots of risky situations with all the others…..

    House of the Dragon

A bit late on the bandwagon with this.

Maybe I’m a bit over GOT but it’s just not that gripping despite some pretty cool Dragon scenes.

3.5 episodes in and the characters are no where near as memorable in my opinion.

    Monkey Dust

    • This has always been a stalwart on my laptop when travelling - if I can't think of anything else to watch - I often go for a random episode
    • (if you don't know it - it's a british animated sketch show - dark as fuck)
    • But this week, I've made the mistake of watching it from final episodes backwards.
They were just less-funny at the end... missing the point of what they were originally satirising. And/or - taking it too seriously? The early piss-taking anti-americanism - just... taken to fucking over-the-top dumb. Or maybe I've gone native and defensive? But even the non seppo pisstake stuff - just seemed less funny, more... spiteful? Possibly due to show-founder Thompson being diagnosed with terminal cancer around that time?
I'm curious - if I continue to work my way back - will I find the progression to it becoming 'worse', or... will it destroy my original appreciation of the show completely.

It doesnt help they are deviating from the source material.
Which unlike the main GOT series they have no reason too as Fire and Blood is complete (well what they need for this time period/series)

Finished Landman, pretty good series, certainly in the Sheridan style of lawlessness for the main protagonsists.

BIlly-Bob is excellent in this, his wife and daughter, toidy! His daughter, is a 27 yr old, playing a 17yr old, which isnt ideal given how much sexualisation of her.

Pretty good cast all up though, with John Hamm, Demi Moore, Ally Larter and many other recognisable faces from many other Sheridan productions.

Do wonder how much of the facts Billy-Bob spits out through the series are real, have to assume they must be pretty close for those bothered to fact check them...not me 🙂

Yes it is, Fire and Blood Part 1 (part 2 is in the works)
its a detailed history of the Targaryen reign. Starts from before the conquest of Aegon.

House of the Dragon covers the most influential period which is known as the Dance of the Dragon. Basically the Targaryen Civil War.

Part 2 of Fire and Blood will no doubt end with Roberts Rebellion (the events leading up to the main GOT events)

Theres also the Dunk and Egg novella series thats also coming to TV soon too
    High hopes for that one..

    Theres been a few...
supposedly there was going to be a Jon Snow one (purely tv fiction)

They did develop one set thousands of years before current events but it was scrapped.

Last i heard apart from House of the Dragon and Dunk and Egg (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms) they are talking about one based on Aegons conquest and one based on Roberts Rebellion.

HBO will be milking it for years.
they could always re do seasons 7 and 8 of GOT, that would be great..

Just watched The Gold based on the Heathrow Brinks Met gold heist back in the early 80’s. Recommended viewing with a second season to come.
