    Cleaner

Not the Samuel L. Jackson, Ed Harris, Eva Mendes one. Instead this has Daisy from Star Wars and Clive Owen (briefly).

Best summarised by pointing out they stole the plot from Die Hard, made no effort to develop characters thoughtfully and instead relied on laughably pathetic plot devices such as immediately available, detailed background information about our protagonist, lengthy discussions with the chief of police who clearly has nothing better to do during a terrorist situation. The villains are caricatures whose motivations are both overexplained and underdeveloped. But they're not fighting for money, this time they're motivated by love of the environment. So it's modern and complex.

And of course the reluctant hero is a 120lb special forces operative turned skyscraper window cleaner who easily fights everyone else.

Just rewatch Die Hard as you should be doing anyway.

me to, even the maligned ones like National Treasure and Sahara.

Having two hot girls does not reduce my interest either.

A director with a catalogue of awesome. A great cast featuring an all-time MILF and an embodiment of the reason I learnt Spanish. And a great genre; mystery adventure!

Watched Chef with Jon Favreau. Nicely acted, feel good road trip film, with lots of cameos and small parts for well known actors like Sophia Vergara, Oliver Platt, Dustin Hoffman and Robert Downey Jr.

And The Old Guard, a action film from Netflix that didn't actually suck, about immortal warriors starring Charlize Theron

@antipodean haha I think that summarised it perfectly 👌

The Red One - pretty good cast with Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans, JK Simmons, Lucy Liu

fun movie where Simmons is Santa and the Rock is his head of security as Santa is kidnapped.

3 fighting polar bears out of 5 mythical beings

I've watched this a couple of times. Good fun. A sequel is due to be released in July.

Let’s get some more recommendations going!

I loved the Hundred Foot Journey, and a quick search tells me I need to watch Tampopo and Big Night. Can’t sleep on Ratatouille either…

@voodoo Big Night was good fun. Hundred foot journey was excellent as well. Ratatouille takes some topping as a food movie though.

Saw 'the taste of things' at the french film festival last year. On the big screen the food porn was off the charts. Gluttony literally there!

Description below - it was great to watch

Set in France in 1889, the film follows the life of Dodin Bouffant as a chef living with his personal cook and lover Eugénie.

If there is anything I love more than a food movie/series, it’s a wine one!

Drops of God was fantastic. My wife and I watch very little together as our tastes are generally different - but we devoured this
